I just hope that none of us ever find ourselves in the situation where we have to test it out! But if we do, that we'll definitely employ that maneuver.

That's pretty good.

I also learned at an earlier age to use the corner of a table or counter and push yourself onto that rather than try and do it by punching or pushing into your own abdomen.

The OP method has the advantage of not needing access to a table or object.
