I can't bend over like normal. I have to sort of bend a little, shift my upper body to the right then continue bending down.
I made an appointment with my doctor finally after putting up with it for about 4 months. It's later this afternoon.
Weird thing. My daughter called me last night and told me her back went out on her again, except this time, she couldn't feel or use her legs at all! Long story short, she had an MRI and the diagnosis was that she has a congenital birth defect, congenital pars deformity. Basically the top of her pelvic bone did not fuse with her spine, or something like that. And now, her lower vertebrae are tilted downwards and her dics are bulging.
Since she fell off the the high bars in gymnastics as a teen and suffered a stress fracture, she has had intermittent back pain which increased in frequency since her car accident from the tornado. Then what I mentioned above.
Here's the kicker, her doctor told her that this condition, more times than not, is genetic/hereditary. He asked her if anyone in her family was suffering from lower back/hip pain. She answered her mom started with some recently. He told her that makes sense as most people with this deformity don't know they have it til much later in life as they age. It goes undetected. So he told her to tell me and have that checked.
I already had my appointment made for today, how convenient.
I'm just flabbergasted! I might be deformed.
I guess, I'll just have to wait and see what my physician says in a couple of hours...
