Gearing up for the Winter storm heading my way.

Ugh! I'm officially under a winter storm warning. It's supposed to be a two day event and start 9 am this morning. Snow first, then rain, then more snow and continue through until tomorrow night.

Naturally when all is said and done, we're in the 10 inches+ band.

I'll probably call in to work tomorrow. It will be the first time ever. Last thing I need is to get stuck with my back and hips all jacked. I don't start physical therapy until Monday.

Oh, it's supposed to be windy too with 15 to 25 mile an hour winds. Joy!

Careful walking in wind and snow (and ice) - especially with jacked hips and back,

We had a super slick parking lot a couple of times this Winter. So slick you could fall
even if you were being careful. And we do get big winds here, too.

  • Even with the kinda multi-layered underwear you hear about on forums these days, there is no point bravin' a harshly cold environment for the sake of it, especially with a spasmin' butt.

I'm home safe and sound now, but not no worse for wear.

Apparently my bad disc/hip thingy doesn't like cold damp windy weather. My whole left leg down to the ankle has just joined the buttocks in spasm. I had to leave early but did have two of the young guys escort me to my car. Otherwise, it could have been bad. Our lot snowplow truck hadn't arrived yet.

They've changed the forecast too. Now we're in the 12 inches + zone and north of the I-69 corridor is 18+. That's only about 15 miles north of me.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to call in tomorrow. It will be the first time ever calling in.

Hubby is an aerospace quality control engineer/manager. He's doing just fine.

I retired from the medical field back in 2009, but once my grand-kiddies all started going to school and one of my daughters took an administrator of a daycare center position and took my two youngest grand-kids with her, I found myself bored to tears with only writing and doing voice overs. I had to get out of the house and talk to people. I am now a supervisor and head of customer service at a local business/store.
I love it and my gravy hours. I don't need to work, I just want to.

Seems like a rocket scientist and a medical person could come up with some mobility/support ideas for
people with jacked backs and hips.

So, we've got 11 inches and are expected to get 1 to 3 more before the front passes at about 11 this morning.

I got a phone call this morning from hubby telling me to "Stay Home"! He put the jeep in a ditch this morning on his way to work. He said the roads are very narrow and there are only 3 tracks, so both sides share the middle one. He tried to get over because the driver coming from the other way wasn't. Said he got sucked right over and into a ditch. He told me that I would never make it.

So I called in for the first time ever. Why do I feel guilty? Why do I feel like I'm playing hooky? Weird!

            Hahaha!

Dan, hubby isn't a rocket scientist, he troubleshoots "bad" parts of flying things and/or parts for said flying things for NASA, Boeing, Spirit Airlines, etc. He finds a fix, sends it back, they send parts and he inspects the work done on them both from said places and the facility where he works.

I never was a medical scientist either. I worked with the outside of bodies, not the inside.

It's still snowing and blowing, but here is a shot from right outside the front door.
