Question about Post Titles...

This may seem like a dumb question, but I noticed (especially in WSO's) that code was used to pull my own name in - I assume that replaces the code with whatever the current login name is.

I have two questions really:

1.) Is using code like this in the title ok with everyone?

2.) Can you tell me what it is so I don't have to slog through the source output of the forum to figure it out myself (yeah, I'm lazy).

Thanks!

1.) Too early to tell yet, Allen just added this feature last night... we will see how everyone takes this new trick.

    2.) [ you ] without the spaces

On a side note, I've been looking at the marketing lessons behind it... obviously with the view counts and replies on Allen's thread in the main forum, people are certainly attracted to something that addresses them personally.

I'm sure this will get overused, just like the special characters in the WSO section...

    Time will tell.

    What do YOU think [you]?

Actually, to be honest I was a bit unnerved at first, and then I said -hey, that's kinda cool. But I agree that the potential for overuse is quite high.

Yea, it was cool while it lasted, but the overuse, and confusion/help desk requests are a bit too much it seems:

Still would have been fun to keep the code in our sig files.

Anyone know where he got that script? I wouldn't mind hitting a few other forums with it in my sig.

When I rolled out of bed this morning and saw my name in a couple of thread titles and one members sig file, I was a little confused.
14 hours later I hardly notice it, it is like my mind automatically says 'forum code' and moves on. Same with the special characters in the WSO titles. Mind says special characters and moves on.
In other words any appeal they had on me was lost in a matter of minutes and now they are just a minor nuisance like a fly on a dogs ass.

Um...Thom? Why is a fly on a dog's ass a nuisance to you? I've got a real bad feeling about something Munchie was trying to tell me once.
