      None of them, sorry.

First, he needs to drop the "m" - it just looks weird in all these examples. The first two are probably the worst. Using his first name in his username is okay (depending on how it's done), but in these examples it seems he's trying way to hard.

Does he have a hobby or something he really enjoys and is important to him? He could incorporate that into a username.

Sometimes something simple like "MikeinSanFran" is better than trying to come up with something clever that ends up turning people off.

I'd strongly recommend avoiding usernames like "backatitagain" - it comes across as negative (and possibly desperate and pathetic).

Without knowing anything about him, I don't have any good suggestions. Good luck to him though!

I agree. Your usernasme isn't what attracts partners. "MikeinSanFran" tells what your name is and where you live. That's all they care about.

Guys who concentrate on clever usernames, are like guys that concentrate on pick up lines. It's the wrong area to concentrate on.

Of course you're not right. Women can't get enough of dominant Alpha males like me. The clueless and weak men of the world ask permission for a goodnight kiss after spending $200 on some fancy meal. I on the other hand give them a full on 50 shades of grey experience because that's what they really want. Have you not seen the box office sales for 50 shades. Some of them went to see it multiple times after reading all the books. Women want men like me. Lucky I'm around really.

I'd have to have him post about himself, but from what I know...He's an IT/High-Tech sales guy, ex college athlete, into IM, likes to travel, or wants to travel more, volunteers, likes dogs, movies, coffee, dancing, adventure...hmm, that's all I know, lol.

Women (not "girls") want a man who's confident and decisive. Pick something and move ahead with it; this shouldn't take hours! If you can't even do that, there's really no point in going any further.

Have you had success with online dating? No idea what that has to do with it. He skyped me his list, and I just posted it here since I have no idea and haven't dated in about 10years. Apparently there's a bit more that goes into it than,"Pick something and move ahead with it..."

As a matter of fact, yes, I've had significant success, and have now been with my last online date for over five years.

It has everything to do with it. The men who connect well with women know what they want, make a decision, and run with it. (Some men put up 50 profiles with 50 different names; everyone has a different style of approaching online dating.) But if you can't even figure out what to call yourself, and if you're too afraid to even use your own first name, (as you state above), then you are not going to get anywhere, period. I'm not the only one saying this; re-read all of the responses that you've gotten so far.

Jill, too funny - and your "analysis" of each name was spot on! That's how they struck me as well!

@Steve23 - Here's an idea (if it fits him) - SelectiveMike (or SelectiveGuy if he'd prefer to not use his first name). He's being selective regarding his username (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). It also conveys that he's selective in terms of the women he dates and isn't in a hurry to find someone, which is attractive to most women. Just a thought.

He was reluctant to use his first name, which is why he shortened it to M. Would something like MSmiley, or SmileyMike work? I did a quick google search and it said something about making the first letter or word fall within the top half of the alphabet. Found this site as well:

(I am not tryin' to be lewd here btw.)

Are you gonna stress place, suggest virility, talk up fun an' humor, point up your best features, hint at your job or hobby?

So mebbe this list is kinda puttin' out feelers on an angle to go for, same as you would for puttin' anythin' up front.

It is a draft, coverin' a whole range of angles, but not pullin' 'em together into a coherent whole.

The only painful rejection comes from Claude not liking the donuts I feed him.

    location + job + hobby

    example: MechanicSkierAz

    Or just hobby + location

    DcMountainBiker

    Or even just a hobby

    MeetMeFishin

    See how easy that is?

I really liked FuntasticFella. That would have gotten a click on the profile anyway and I have no idea what comes next, lol!

But it would have been a start.

Please don't tell me I would have done something dangerous, guys. Hahaha!

Trust me, those sites are depressing, and most of those people are immature 20 somethings looking for sex and drama.

      Inb4 I get flamed.

Don't take advice from an older women, they will just make something up to beg for food or pennies from men. Older women tend to be very bitter because they are ugly and unwanted by men. So its best not to pay attention to what they say, let them stay invisible, and bitter about it XD.

I'm not sure you understand the concept of a cougar. By their very nature they are desperate, hence they pounce on their prey. They never turn anyone down and are delighted with any attention they can get.

            A-Hem!

The "Urban Dictionary" states: "Cougars are gaining in popularity -- particularly the true hotties -- as young men find not only a sexual high, but many times a chick with her shit together."

Some guys just may think that it's too much competition in their age bracket. Or they are 2 days from their last unemployment check and they are looking for a sugar mamma that is offering 2 hots and a cot with a 700 credit score.

                Sucks to be them then.

Older women have been around the block a time or two and are too wise to fall for that crap!

              Age is just a number.

There are sites for "sugar moms" you know.

Likely, the arrangement isn't what most men are hoping for.

I've never understood the age hangup when it comes to relationships. The same people who wink and grin when a 60 yr old man walks by with a 25 yr old on his arm....think it's crazy when a 50 yr old woman comes with a 30 yr old man.

Who cares? If it works, it works - and is no one else's business.
