So, the forum shows 6000-7000 people online (2-3x normal). However, clicks on my signature link are virtually non-existent when compared to the last 30 days. Interesting...

I removed it for the post. Forum shows most of it being in the Main forum, not SEO.

I don't see a sig and I highly doubt the 6-7k people online as well, unless you count spammers and bots as people.

4,000 of that traffic is on the SEO forum asking why their alexa rank dropped.

I wondered if anyone else noticed....I had posted recently about the dropping "active member" numbers (they were staying in the 350-600 range!)....and those numbers did seem quite low.

Today the numbers jumped drastically but seem a bit off in the other direction....are we to believe there are 500+ viewing the OT section? Seriously?

I can't believe 27k people here made only 305 posts so far today - especially when I can SEE 2 members made one hundred of those posts.

My guess is the changing numbers is a different way of counting - or displays of the new "feed". Oh well, I'm sure from a biz standpoint, these numbers look better....

It only takes a few of us to say everything that ever needs to be said.

The rest just watch and read in wonder.

I think they are still having trouble with logins too, although I haven't had any the past few days:

Currently Active Users: 28855 (1386 members and 27469 guests)

    Guests outnumber Members nearly 20:1

I know the WSO section is now used for landing pages and sales pages for list traffic and solo ads but that is still a pretty big gap between members and guests.

Sometimes I'm here but I'm not.

I sometimes have 20 different tabs open at the same time.

Today says I've been on all day - but I was actually watching netflix in another tab while working.

Have to wonder if the 24 hour log out was a side effect of the upgrades or done on purpose so they could see what really might be going on.

What I DO know that I've personally observed is how slow the threads move in areas of the forum.

I'll see something stick in the same place for a good hour or more at times.

Yeah...today was the first day I visited the forum and I was automatically logged in.

Every other day lately it has asked me to enter my login details.

Maybe they just changed things so if I didn't log out but left WF I still showed as active along with everyone else who was off doing something more productive.

          Best regards,

          Ozi

That didn't happen to me yesterday, but I sure was surprised when I opened up the OT from my bookmarks this morning and found myself still logged in.

I've stayed logged in for years - until recently the WF has kept logging me out.

The numbers are up to 57000 today....in other words, total fiction. Wonder if it's deliberate...ya think?

Paul once discussed how you can tweak the settings and the online presence will go crazy. Of course it's deliberate. Not saying this is the case, but it's the kind of thing one might do if you wanted a prospective buyer to think the site was busy.

During my recent sabbatical to have my eyes fixed I had a tab open with the OT forum front page the whole time. Despite me not actually viewing on the site I would've shown as being a viewer.

They have obviously tweaked a setting that makes the numbers look better. Doesn't mean that traffic has changed or increased in any way, but let's say it's real visitors and they actually start posting. Judging by the quality of the previous recruitment efforts, God help us all. lol.

A few months after they started the WAMAs I made a comment on one of those threads how the sub-forum shows very little traffic numbers. Sure enough, within a week all of those WAMA threads each had thousands of views.

    It's probably legit data.

Hmmm, yes one of my sites has huge numbers as well, but a good part of it is automatic bots, going for the blog post section.

Just had a look, and most is crap with links, trying to get a click.

Yep, didn't want to post that since it is disturbing.

Let's hope that they sell this time,...don't want to see a "404 error message one day".

I have to log on by using a back door every day!

And if l leave my computer for a few hours, have to do it again.

But Dashlane, does it automatically for me, but it still sucks.

They have had tons of time to fix it, so it unfortunately looks like they want to milk this forum and run it into the ground.

              Which seriously sucks.

Same here. I stayed logged in for a day or so, then back to bootsville.

And in a new development, the forum now seems to be having trouble remembering the last post I've read. In some threads the "first new post" link will take me to the first new post, and in other threads it will take me to the very first post.
