Just noticed someone who posted 19 times in 12 minutes early this morning. Not unusual to see this by some who sell here but ...how is it done?

I thought there was at least a one minute period required between posts? Did that change or are some forum sections or some people exempt? Anyone know?

They must be posting pure rubbish, a well thought out reply/post takes a few minutes.... For me at least...

Only time I noticed a restriction was with reporting posts, or sending PM's.

Didn't know regular posting had a time limit.

    Or is this something else?

(I could just cut and past this quickly here several times to find out, but I won't.)

Guess maybe it doesn't matter as it seems the WF has made a change to how it displays some posts.

I think perhaps the WF has closed a loophole. Until the last few days...if you clicked on "new posts" it was common to have at least half the 25 results threads on the first page be posted by only 2-3 people here.

They post dozens of time daily to their own classified ad threads - copy/pasting one ad after another. I had noticed 2 that run the same ads - posting the same bonuses and offers for the same multiple products day after day - even though the people placing the WF ads are in different countries.

It appeared coordinated and I posted about it in the suggestion section. No response so I assumed the 'loophole' was deliberate.

Now I see the 112 posts made by 2 people so far TODAY (posting in their own classified ads) - don't show up in the "new posts" results. Loophole closed??? Looks like it so doesn't matter how many times they post in their threads - it doesn't 'take over' the forum search results.

Well, I have never concerned myself with such things and never legitimately hit that limit(sometimes it acts like I submitted the same message twice in a row and gives me an error), but I think, and would think, that that is one post per thread per minute. Still, salegurus is right. And why would ANYONE want to post so many in such a short time?

So you are saying that Kay King wants to SPAM? Somehow, I don't think she does. THAT was the context of my question actually. Perhaps I should have said why do YOU, but STILL. I get a TON of spam! How much? I have over 99 thousand UNREAD emails. It may be closer to 1 million. One spammer has sent me over 2200 that I never touched. They constantly send me emails saying that there is some free delivery or some such. Yeah, I think I know about spam, having seen so much in the past like 14+ years.

Because if you posted over and over in your own ad threads...those ad threads would show up on the first page of results when someone clicked on "new threads".Most days recently, more than half the 'new threads' that showed were by one or two people using this constant-bump posting method.

It added to your post count - and to the post count of the ad thread which made it look "popular".

When you are running 2-3 dozen ads...it's good exposure. The sellers were smart and exploited a loophole no one had noticed. Does appear someone in charge here looked at it decided it wasn't good for the WF which was my point in mentioning it.

Well, as for bumping threads, you don't have to do that every minute. In fact, once every few hours is better because it is less likely to draw attention.

Yeah, I never understood the post count thing. It is a dumb way to judge popularity. BTW I USED to have the #1 post count, so it isn't a jealousy thing.

Are you implying something? I simply meant that I am not trying to keep it up so I clearly don't care. HECK, I got maybe 5 PMs indicating that they thought I was the owner or something, because I was at the top of the list, but I set them straight.

    Steve -

You can have some of mine. I was embarrassed I had so many and relieved when Alexa passed me up.

I'm not myself....I'm someone else now.

Steve, however, is still himself. Some things never change.

    Where you been?
