14 Login Attempts

This morning was the worst ever regarding attempting to login. These days 2, 3 and often four attempts are often necessary; this morning it was 14!!

I was going to go to 15, then give up.

What in heck has happened to the forum's programming? Is freelancer bringing their kids to work with them and letting them entertain themselves playing with the code?

    May I ask if by chance you have tried logging in your account on another device and experienced the same issue?

      I had major problems trying to log in today too. I tried 6 times and it would log me in and then instantly log me out. Then I tried logging in using the link at the top right and that finally worked.

      Also, the new format is unintuitive and a time waster. I clicked a link in the notification email to a thread I'm subscribed to and instead of it immediately being taken to the comment that was in the email, I had to spend several minutes trying to find that comment. To check the user friendliness of an interface, find a 10 year old kid that knows there way around a computer and and ask them to do the same. Can I click a button somewhere and return to the old format?

      EDIT: After completing this comment I see that I'm back in the previous user-friendly format. How can I be here all the time?

      I would have replied to you much earlier, but when I left the site after posting my original message, I was automatically logged out and despite many, many efforts I was not able to log back in again.

      To answer your question: I access the WF from three different sources: my desktop computer, my laptop computer and my iPad. The two computers run Firefox and Google Chrome, the iPad uses Safari.

      Which I use at any given time depends on where I am and what I'm doing, but the problem has prevailed over all of them. This morning I was using my laptop, but I tried to log on with both Firefox and Chrome.

      Later today I tried with both my desktop and iPad. I've just logged on now using my laptop via Firefox.

      Another issue, which I didn't mention this morning is actual site navigation when I do manage to log on. Clicking hyperlinks also needs to be repeated multiple times before being able to move forward.

    It's been 7 weeks - multiple threads - and the answer is the same "looking into it" or "working on it" and every other time there's a suggestion it may be user problem.

    This began with changes to accommodate the new "feed" function - to shuttle logins to the feed...and it's never been fixed. There was an improvement a couple weeks ago in that I now avoid being routed to the feed every time I log in. But still the login issue continues.

    9 times out of 10 I don't bother logging in anymore as there seems hardly any point. I only did so now because I'm not on my home pc and couldn't remember my password for a UK forum I use so thought I'd browse here quickly until my memory kicks in.

    There more than just login issues - tried to thank in two threads - thanks don't appear.

    Posted a comment in another thread - comment did not appear. Thought I did it wrong but when I click it said "duplicate" - that was 10 minutes ago but the post still doesn't show. Don't know if this one will or not.

    I find the easiest way to login is to hit the "Post Reply" button at the end of a thread and login there. Works every time for me.

    I have been having this problem as well- but it's not been 14 times.

    Usually 2 or 3 times.

    My username is replaced with a dot after I receive the login notification- and than I have to try to log in again.

    As Kay mentioned to many threads about this and not enough Action , I guess just another nail in the Coffin , I always thought like when they took over some changers at the beginning and told us what was going on so no problem there

    But not we are treated like mushrooms...!
