Social Responsibility As Entrepreneurs... I need your help.
Over the past few years I've learned a lot about internet marketing, building websites and starting new businesses, and it has paid off in a major way in my life and helped me get to where I am now.
This September 12th is my birthday and I realized that I have everything I could possibly need and am more than fortunate in my life. I realized how lucky I am to be able to sit here right now, in the comfort of my home and make money online! You see, there are people that hike miles every day just to find water, and water that ultimately makes them sick. Most children in Ehtiopia don't live past the age of 5 because they don't have clean water to drink. Yet I make enough money from Adsense in 1 day to give a child in Ethiopia clean water for 20 years.
At first, this was all mind boggling to me but I decided to put my skills to good use and give up my birthday this year to help other people.
Most of us get presents on our birthday, lots of them are things we do not really need. But in many places in the world, people don't have access to the most basic necessity: clean, safe drinking water.
I learned that only $20 could give 1 person clean water for 20 years, then I thought about all of the big internet product launches and the millions of dollars that were made in just a few hours. Imagine what that could do for people in 3rd world countries?
So this September, I'm giving up my birthday so that kids in Ethiopia can have more birthdays. I joined forces with a company called charity: water, and I built a landing page that would help me promote their cause.
I'm looking for ideas and suggestions on marketing it and for ways to get donations. I'd like to collect just $20 from as many people as possible to help reach my goal of $5,000 which will build 1 well in Ethiopia and effect the lives of 250 people.
