Oberlin college students (the most spoiled of them all) are complaining ...again....

Seems with all the protesting of injustice they are doing, many of them are finding it hard to keep up with the coursework in college. Thus,

** they are demanding a ban on mid-term exams

** and demanding no one get a grade below "C"

Does that school award a degree in walking around holding signs and protesting? How on earth do these people get jobs - do they ever graduate?

  • Yep, that sounds right.

Giving a grade below a C is regarded as a microaggression performed by the professor, thus causing the student to seek domicile in a "Safe Place". Since mommy's womb is no longer available, the campus is required to retrofit an old conference room with fallopian tubes and provide sippy cups full of "appa juise" and a constant cycle of Care Bears cartoons.

  • Hey I agree. Give them all ABC. But make them sign a waiver that they can't sue when they can't get a job after graduating.

For what it's worth, I think it's really important that we have schools like this. God knows it sure helps weed out the whiners when screening resumes.

I've seen that school, you can buy a diploma online for $5.
  • Students invoked the "C" non-word?

Tellya, that is so frickin' lowgrade.
  • For which major?

Some classes are so BS theyre giving grades away just for breathing in the same room as the teacher. And the teacher is boring.
  • Seems like a pretty expensive way to do adult daycare.

  • Why should only the top percenters get good grades?

  • Jeez. 20 years ago I took 10 and 11 courses a term. I was glad to get a B average with that workload and while I thought about quitting many times, especially in the first term of my second year, I stuck with it. 6AM to midnight, 6 days a week. Our class slogan was "Last To Leave."

You have to wonder how these babies are going to accomplish anything in the real world. They don't want to work. They want achievement for doing nothing. They think, frankly, like communists. And this is a Canadian speaking, someone who truly understands the word "socialism" and isn't frightened by it as if it's a monster under the bed.

I imagine there are hardworking, diligent members of Gen Y and Gen Z (have to admit I don't know much about Gen Z at all)...and what we're hearing about are the whiny outliers...but it's scary.

In 25 years I'll have retired. And the world will be in the hands of...

    • Jason, I wouldn't plan on retiring....

With all these lazy up and coming spoiled kids, there will be a massive lack of experts on anything outside of Facebook or texting. There will be such a strong demand for your expertise, companies will be throwing money at you.

If you really wanted to coast, you could hold a few seminars each year where you charge $10,000 a head. That could be your "fun money." :-)

Ha ha ... the sense of self-entitlement and the whining are vomit inducing.

  • How to graduate with a doctorate from oberlin in days, maybe sooner:

    1. Register for every needed course.
    2. Tell them you will not be attending.
    3. Pickup your degree.
