Any Chinese Warriors in the House? Or Warriors in China

If yes, I'd like to ask you a question about doing business in China. Something I heard, and would like to verify.

  • I am not Chinese but since 1978 I have visited China on countless occasions. I originally exported to China, and after 9 years I changed to importing from China.

    I know the culture well and have always enjoyed doing business there. If you are thinking of setting up a business there I can probably give you some advice, but I am now only teaching importing.

    • How do you deal with corruption?
      To what extent is business intertwined with politics? Are political contacts useful?

      I have family in South East Asia, and the military/business/political aspects seems to be almost indistinguishable even at the lower levels. Certain ruling party officials certainly have the means to take away everything in-country on a whim.

      Was that ever a possibility you considered or had contingency planning for?
