Just Visiting Some Old Friends

Been having a rough time of late with many deaths among family and friends and just needed to come by and see if any of my old friends were still around.

I can't post anything personal as I respect the new rules of the forum but would really love it if any of the old crowd would just pop in and say hi.

Could just use a little cheering up right now.

Thanks.

Hey Wags, nice to see you pop in. Sorry to hear the tough news. I sure do hope the music biz is going well for you.

    Cheers

    • Thanks Don. The music biz is meh. I sell a few synth sound libraries monthly but nothing earth shattering. Have made a little under $2,000 this year. It's something. My wife is retired and we live off her pension. So far, so good. I honestly don't stress over this stuff anymore. It is what it is.

  • Sorry to hear about your losses...not much I can say to make you feel better, just letting you know someone is listening.
  • Good to see you stop in and say hello. I'm sorry for your losses. Time has a way of helping, the pain will dim even if the memories do not. I hope you make regular connections with good friends, have some fun and don't dwell so much on sorrows. Believe me, we all have those, and it really shakes your world.

I'm glad you are selling something, but really, you've got to learn to market, targeting prospective buyers as closely as you can.
  • Hey Steven,

    I'm sorry for your losses.

    Good to see you here

I'm sure many more will pop in.

    Cheers
    Dan
  • Steven,

Sorry for your losses. I'm sure that saying that doesn't help much but hang in there. I hope things start working out better for you.

  • Hi Steven,

It's good to hear from you. I'm also sorry to hear about your losses. I went through that last year. Two major losses within 5 weeks. I understand how you must feel.

There've obviously been a lot of changes here, but don't be a stranger. I think that although not as many older members post like they used to, they still check in to from time to time to see what's up.

    Take care,

    Joe
  • Condolences to you and your family on your losses, Steve. There will be better days ahead.

  • Hi Steven,
I'm sorry to hear of your losses.
You'll always have supportive friends here whenever you do pop in.
Take care, mate, and don't let it get you down.

  • Hi Steven,

Hey mate, good to hear from you. Keep your chin up....
  • So... you got me to sign in... 1st time in years.

Good to see a few others I respect still dropping in from time to time. Hang in there Wags. Getting older is not for the faint of heart. Our friends and relatives die off, the world changes and becomes unfamiliar, looking after our health takes more time than it used to and there are a whole lot more aches and pains to let us know we are still alive.

The only solution I know to keep from falling into some deep dark despair, (to the sound of distant drums... 'Doom Doom Doom') is to always be on the lookout for someone, anyone, even someone you dislike, to smile at or help in some other way. If I am busy helping others, I don't have the time to complain much... even when complaining is justified or even called for... it is just something I don't want spend anymore of the time I have left doing!

Remember, you are one of the good ones and we are getting rarer each passing day!

  • Thank you all for the kind words. Unfortunately, since last coming here a couple of months ago, things haven't really gotten any better. Been quite a year. My wife's uncle was killed in a car crash. Her best friend just lost her husband to liver cancer. I've lost several close friends and one is now in a nursing home with the end very near. She's 49 years old.

I guess this is to be expected as you get older. Personally, I'm in the best health I've been in ages. My latest physical was all good except for a little vitamin D deficiency which I am now taking care of. I feel great. But losing all these friends and family members is hard.

My new business is okay. I'm making about $300 a month, which I'm more than content with. With my wife retired and getting a nice pension from teaching we really don't know much else. We live pretty simply. I've been doing a lot of writing with my music just for fun. I recently finished a Broadway style soundtrack. Sorry I can't post any of this stuff here but if you go to Soundcloud and look up my name, you'll find me. This is a part of my life that's in the past. Seems like a dream now. I've learned a lot over the years. Mostly about being humble and realizing that I'm nothing special. Just a regular guy. Sorry it took me so long to get here. I know I alienated a lot of folks while I was here on a regular basis, always trying to prove my worth. Well, the only thing I'm trying to prove now is that I can be a normal human being.

Hope you're all doing well and know that you're in my thoughts from time to time.

    • Sorry to hear about all of these people. It does seem that one encounters more and more death as one approaches one's own demise.

I found your channel easily enough, but couldn't find this specific track.

  • Steven, you most likely got info for new composers
and new artists on the block

    why not publish your experiences?

    • I could, but I have zero interest to do it. It's nice to not have to work anymore.
