I have been working from a small laptop sitting on the couch for a year I am now ready to build a spot for me I was thinking of a long desk with 2 computers 2 different screens and then keeping my laptop to test software etc a place where i can reformat and dont have to worry about losing anything. I would like to see some of your guys setups for inspiration.

  • I have a laptop hooked to 2 x 24" external monitors and an external keyboard+mouse. That way I have a full desktop while at home, and I can take the laptop with my while on the road.

It is ... and I think the poster was being funny.

Look at all that paper .... what a footprint it must have been to print all of that paper ... and the TV is on and he is not watching it ... wasting electricity .... this is the unconventional truth in action.

Okay someone 'splain. I always see everyone with 2-3 computer screen. Why do you need more than 1? What am I missing?

    2 hands.
    1 mind

    I can't multitask on 1 computer much less 3 - I'd go insane. lol

I always have several applications open. I have developed a multi screen workflow over the last decade that is very efficient. Each screen serves a purpose for various applications.

It's not for everyone but my staff all have more than one screen and have also adapted.

I know tons of people who thought this but have never met anyone who can go back to one monitor after using two.

Even if you just have your web browser open on one for research and Word to write into on the other. You'll be amazed how much this helps.

Very nice chicken, Jared. You just gave me an idea in your second video for a Clickbank product on how to litter train chickens, lol. Maybe it will do as well as the "How To Build A Chicken Coop" product they have on there now.

But, hey, it's your chicken. Feel free to take the idea and run with it. I wouldn't have time to do the research and actual training. I have 4 cats, so the poor chicken wouldn't last an hour at my house. They're very quick.

    Very nice setup!

This is my dream home office. Something similar I have in my mind movie. One day I am going to have this type of setup.

    Cheers!

mine is a samsung 10.2" netbook for the next 3 months while I wander Australia, Indonesia, NZ, etc. I thought that it'd be a bit of a hassle being cramped to a small computer, but I've been testing it out for the last 3-4 days before I leave (sept 9th). Hasn't been too bad.

I'm sure there will be little things I dislike, but the portability of this netbook over my dell 17" laptop cant be beat = )

Hahaha, I was thinking of re-working my workspace the other night as I sat on the recliner with my laptop on a cooler in the living room. I should have taken a picture!

My usual workspace is the computer in the bedroom, but I needed a change of scenery.

  • I went from my home office to my couch out of necessity. Broke my ankle a couple weeks ago. Although I would have preferred not to have this literal "stop me in my tracks" experience, I have found that it hasn't put the slightest dent in my revenues. Actually, it's been a great time to evaluate what aspects of business I want (and need) to let go of, what I will maintain and what I may add.

Working from the couch with a purple cast on ain't so bad.
