Anyone else been noticing this as the copyright notice at the bottom of websites? (Ordinary sites that have nothing to do with 2012 predictions/therories/etc.)

I keep seeing more and more of them since I noticed the trend...

Is someone not telling me something? Is this what the "cool kids" are doing now?

LOL - I haven't seen that one yet. It's kinda like the MSM pre-writing obituaries,

So what happens when the earth "ascends" in Dec 2012 and there still's an internet on the heightened plane. Does that mean their copyright is no good and we can copy those sites if we move fast enough?

It was a neat little black-hat SEO trick. I say was because so many people started doing it that it is not as effective anymore. The idea was to use "2012" as a keyword because it is so heavily searched in the search engines. Savy marketers are getting pretty sly about using keywords from trends for boosting rankings and traffic without alerting the growing sophistication of spam detectors. You might still be able to get away with it for untargeted traffic without setting off alarms by being a little more creative. Try using more such keywords from this pop-cult movement such as "Copyright 2009-2012 Maya Popol Vuh Gold Productions" or some other low-key tie in at the bottom of all of your webpages.
