Look for a way to unlock my old laptop

I have an old ThinkPad laptop with Windows 7 installed. Never used it for a while and want to access it today to install a Windows only software. Tried a few passwords I thought it was correct but without any luck.

is it possible to reset the password without deleting any file on that laptop? I am not a tech savvy so any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Have you ever considered contacting the support desk for your product? They would be better able to help you, wouldn't you think?

    • Contacted them before posting in here. They said it is out of their service range.

I am not a tech guy so i can't decide which one to try. That is why i ask in here.

      thanks

  • Hello,
You can try installing a fresh copy of windows only if you don't have any important data on the windows directory. But you can recover your password by going through the safe mode session and try changing the password with administrator privileges.

    Thanks,

  • I used to use the password reset disk to unlock dell laptop , i was using Windows 7 ,no steps can go wrong, otherwise the device will not work properly , if you're a beginner , you can try simple tools first
  • I also have a dell laptop Windows 7, the way i used for windows 7 crack is the password manager as a beginner. If you got question, I hope the article how to reset a dell laptop will do you some help.
  • Well if you have another functional PC or got a friend or relative that have one that could lend to you, you may take out your laptops HDD, use an external USB HDD (it's around $10 - $15) enclosure and copy your files to another storage. Once you're sure the data you need is copied and secured, put back your HDD to your laptop and reformat it as you please.
