What is the difference between the following sentences:

1- " She knows how to save money by default."
2- " She knows, by default, how to save money."
3- " By default, she knows how to save money."

I will tell you what they have in common. "by default" should not be in any of them

The structure of Number 2 makes the most sense to me. But it's still a clumsy sentence...and really doesn't make sense.

I mean, I don't know how you can know how to save money by default. I think you are using "by default" improperly.

You can make sense of each sentence if you replace the word "default" with "golly".

It doesn't always work like that

I would change it to: "By Not Shopping At The Sweeper Store"

Damn it man, this is a grammar thread. All-Powerful should be hyphenated!

Instead of spotting the difference, you can just get rid of "by default" in all three sentences. It's so unnecessary.

According to Grammarly all three are technically grammatically correct.

"By default" does not make sense though. Maybe change it to "intuitively", "from experience" or "from common-sense"?

Making sense is one of the requirements for any editor/proofreader to check. I agree with the others in saying "by default" makes zero sense.
