I posted a thread asking for advice on marketing a sales page. It was removed. Is this not allowed? The powers to be said I was self promoting. I do not understand.

You must post a bragging post or a WSO on your given field of expertise before you are allowed ask questions.

    E.g . post "how to make 10 000 000$ a month using adword"

Question:"could anyone help me setup an adword account"

The powers that be, I assume, are the mods? So, the mods - the only guys and girls with the delete button tell you that you can't do something and so you come ask the unwashed masses why?

    Makes sense.

There is a very fine line between self-promotion and asking for advice on a website when a link is included. It's solely up to the mods to decide when the line is crossed.

Depending on your wording, the time of day, the mod's mood, what they had for supper, and whether the Yankees won or not can all go into consideration as to what's acceptable or not.

In other words, it happens. Live with it. It occasionally happens to all of us for one reason or another. Don't complain - that's a good way to contribute to said mood and make the next thing you post go missing as well.

Welcome to the forum. It's a great place to learn. But it's a bad place to spam or try any funny business.

I understand, And I was not really trying to complain, just wanted to find out if or what rules I broke. With the amount of people on this site I can understand what they are trying to do, I guess. It's a way for me to learn what not to do. I had posted before asking for advice and replies asked me to post my website link. So I tried to be accommodating and this time with my question I posted my web link also, lol. Oh well.
And it's funny, all I was asking is how best to market a sales page. Because I don't have a blog or many pages for back links or post to submit, I'm having trouble figuring out ways to market my page other than social media.

I'm sorry, the rules prevent me on advising you on this.

If you're asking for help, don't include a link. You're not allowed to have links in your posts, only in the signature which only happens once you have written worthwhile posts (or it may be different now).
