Well, switching from vertical to horizontal is OBVIOUS, etc... But have a DECENTLY endowed MAN design it! I got some with a horizontal slit. There is NO real overlap! The slit is too low! The result? If you are like over 1", FORGET IT! You fall out!

I SWEAR, what idiot comes out with things like that!?!?!? If the flap were even 1" higher it would cost NO more, but IT WOULD WORK!

Well that is going to make it a bit rougher on left handed women.

I can see a few problems with horizontal slits....maybe SNL just needs new material.

I only NOW really read the article. These are NEW in the UK? They aren't new here.

BTW, can't a left handed person simply use their RIGHT hand for such a simple task?

That's kinda what I was thinking, too. Fascinating though that a real
product and company has been created so people don't have to just
use the other hand to accomplish the task.

      Boo! Hiss!

Why SHOULD we be continually discriminated against for being left-handed.

Better idea: Trying wearing your underwear inside out so YOU have to access with your left hand.

It seems like a simple task, but handedness is so natural, that it requires very little thought. Here's an exercise to demonstrate. Fold your arms in front of your chest.

      Are they folded?

      No problem, I'll wait.

      5

      .

      4

      .

      3

      .

      2

      .

      1

      .

Ok, now that they're folded, notice which arm is on top. Now, unfold them.

Next, fold them again, but with the OTHER arm on top. Feels weird, doesn't it?

Anyway, as a left hander, I have never used the access panel.

Ever try sharpening a pencil in a wall-mounted sharpener the left handed way? To do it, insert the pencil with your right hand, cross your wrists and turn the handle with your left hand.

Try eating, brushing your teeth, or throwing with your left hand. After all, those are all simple tasks, so you shouldn't have any problem.

Really, give it a try. Us left handers have had to adapt to a right handed world, and sometimes AGAINST our will. Join together, and just try being a left hander for a day. It will help you understand our plight.

One other quick example. I didn't learn how to tie my shoes until 3rd grade, because when righties showed me, it just didn't work.

      All the best,
Michael "Proud To Be Sinisterous" Oksa

p.s. The Latin word for right is dexter, and left is sinister. Funny how words relating to manual ability have dexter as a root. Dexterity, dexterous, etc. But what do left handers get? A word synonymous with evil.

My father was a lefty and my mother a righty.
Growing up whatever my father taught me I still do left handed, peeing being one of them. The only time I wear underwear (I know why to much information) is in the winter and those are long johns.
So now imagine that issue when you not only have to deal with a right handed opening but also your wiener trying to hide from your cold hands

Who even uses that stupid opening cut into the front of men's briefs? I've always just pulled the top down.

Lefties underwear...ridiculous! That'll be a product that is soon discontinued. Many left-handed people don't even use left-handed scissors, because they've become so accustomed to using right-handed scissors in their left hand that they can't use left-handed scissors now.

And it's really hard to find a pair of left-handed scissors, too!

I don't know...they might be useful for halloween masks...armed robberies, that one person who ALWAYS passes out on the front lawn at parties, etc.
