Using the term 'Cougar'

If you dont know, the term 'milf' is no longer really used. The term now for a late 30's to mid 40's female who dates a guy in her 20's is Cougar. There is a big stink going on down here right now with many of the women saying that Cougar should not be used because it sounds predatory (apparently they've never been on the business end of a cougar prowling a bar, it can get pretty dicey.)

Ok girls ladies, here's what we'll do. Lets just use the same term for a 40 something female that dates 20 something males as you use for 40 something males that date 20 something females.

After a few months of using 'pervert' or 'letch', we'll run that 'cougar' term by you again see how it sits.

    Presuming the women are single...

If a married woman seeks an affair with a younger man, does that make her a "Cheet-ah"?

I call them sharks because you can see them cruising through the bar with a fin of desperation and lust poking above the crowd. My experiences in being pursued were definitely predatory and the times when I have followed through have been the same.

I personally think its disgusting there is now a TV series advocating this lifestyle.
(Ive not seen the show so that is an uneducated biased opinion)
But let me add, milf was a term for a woman that was hot, though maybe a crude term, while cougar is a term for an older woman that is on the prowl, there is a difference.

That was my impression. And, I thought MILF was a newer term than cougar. Seems (to me at least) like cougar has been in use a lot longer than MILF. But, then again, I only know of those terms because of TV and the Internet. Never heard anyone in real life use either term!

I have no problem with either term...or either type of female . There are a lot of very sharp looking women that are 30+. No longer do women let themselves go after a certain age. I know my gym is filled with females that are 30ish, 40ish that are amazing looking

A Milf is a hot mom. A cougar is a horny old lady that may or may not look good (and not necessarily a mom).

I don't find a cougar lifestyle offensive, as long as they are single. Women like pleasure just as much as we do.

Keep in mind that the older woman is going after younger men who are looking for women, while the older man is going after younger women who are trying to do their homework.

          Not true at all.
My mother was 20 years younger then my father yet in her late 20's when they meet and married.

I understand what you're getting at though.
I've always liked younger women and most assume I mean teenagers, which would make me a pervert.
Now at 56 to me a younger women would be between 20 and 50.
The problem is finding the right age.
A 20 year old would kill me, a 50 year old would be to mature (yes I admit I'm immature).
It doesn't matter though, the only women that seem to find me interesting lately are in their 70's and heavily medicated

That would make her 15 years older then me maturity wise, that would work

I stll think that to have a tv show around the concept is in very poor taste, but I think my definitions and differences was right on target.

If your definition of MILF is Mothers I'd Like to F*** then yes they are.
Sorry to be crude but that is what MILF stands for.

        Hi Thom,

I must admit your definition has me stumped.

I was only able to think of a few four-letter words that start with F, and none of them seem to make sense in this context.

Could you tell me which of the following words the F stands for?

Face, Fact, Fade, Fafa, Fair, Fail, Fake, Fall, Fame, Fang, Fans, Fare, Farm, Fast, Fate, Fats, Faun, Faux, Fava, Fave, Fawn, Faze, Fete, Feet, Feta, Fear, Feed, Fern, Feat, Fees, Feel, Felt, Fell, Fend, Fens, Fess, Feud, Feds, Fest, Fire, File, Fish, Firs, Fife, Fiji, Fill, Find, Finn, Firm, Five, Fins, Fits, Fixe, Flea, Flee, Flat, Fled, Flit, Flag, Flip, Floe, Flan, Flap, Flue, Flab, Flew, Flop, Flow, Flak, Flaw, Flax, Flex, Flub, Fore, Foal, Foes, Fold, Fool, Foci, Foil, Foot, Ford, Fort, Four, Foam, Font, Food, Folk, Fork, Form, Free, Fret, Frat, Frog, From, Frau, Fray, Frit, Fuse, Fuel, Furl, Fuss, Fury, Furs, Fume, Full, Fund, Fuji, Fudd, Fugu, Funk, and Fuzz.

        Thanks in advance.

        All the best,

Guys are using the term "cougar" for any older woman they talk to these days. I have been approached a few times by guys then get called a cougar when they ask my age and I tell them. I have to remind them that I didn't come out looking for them. There seems to be a tendency for younger guys to think a woman is prowling every time she leaves the house to do anything but grocery shop. There's also some perception that after 40 a woman is "grateful" for attention from a younger man. It completely blows them away if you aren't interested.

I'm thinking that a bit more aerobic exercise might keep the testosterone from clogging up the neuron synapses.

I actually heard it on TV the first time and thought that it was just something they made up on the show until I was actually called one a few months ago. What a lark. It doesn't bother me so much that the term is used - it's the fact that some of these dumb kids actually would assume I have my claws set for them just because I am single and out of the house. WTF are they thinking?
