Best/Weirdest Song Titles

I've named the thread "Best/Wierdest" because I reckon weird song titles are the best.

The grand prize: "Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict" - Pink Floyd from Ummagumma (that one takes some beating - obviously some interesting substances around back then )

My personal fave "Crash Course In Brain Surgery" - Budgie from In For The Kill (great song too)

"Gee, I Like Your Pants" - by Frank Zappa from Shut Up And Play Yer Guitar (that one makes me laugh every time I see it, including now :p)

"How Come A Carrot Is More Orange Than An Orange?" - The Amboy Dukes from Journey to The Center Of Your Mind (more interesting substances this time from a somewhat philosohical Ted Nugent  )

That's a few to kick off with. I'll just go through the collection/accumulation and see if I can dig up any more gems.

In the meantime it's over to you guys to toss in a few.

I could be mistaken, but I believe Ted Nugents "claims" to have never used any mind altering drugs.

Now, from the very same Floyd album, "Careful With That Axe,Eugene".
  • Yeah, Several Species... is a tough title to beat. Interesting song, too.

Yes, Kim, you are right. I have heard it directly in an interview. He is very adamant in his never having used illicit substances. He has also said he really thought Journey To The Center Of The Mind was just about non-drug-induced self-discovery. I suppose it's possible.

Another Zappa title, Call Any Vegetable, But Call It By Name.

I just might have to go through my CD collection looking for a few oddball titles.

    Rock on!

  • I have heard Ian Anderson claim the same thing, and that is something I heard directly in an interview.

    • Can't remember the recording "artist"?

Title: I've got tears in my ears from lyin' on my back in my bed while I cry over you.

      Just found the info.

  • A weird one I know of "I could Never Be Your Woman" about a guy who is dating a lesbian.

In regards to the "tears in my ears" post...interesting. I wonder if it helped to inspire "tears in my beer". Or perhaps the person wasn't old enough at the time to talk about beer, so he had to sing about "Tears in his ears". Would be interesting to find out what inspired that song.
  • Motoroller Scalatron by Streolab is an odd title, but the song is awesome!

    Rock on!

    • I have always loved this weird group and weird song. Every time I make a dumb mistake, this song pops into my head.

EDIT: For the life of me, I cannot seem to embed a youtube video - if anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong, I'd appreciate it. - But here is the youtube code:

  • Tony Joe White was darn good. This title is kinda weird too:
Polk Salad Annie. (At least I think its weird)

And to me this title AND song is weird, thru and thru!
