" Great Post, Thanks " Arrrggghhhh

Sorry just felt compelled to write this as I was scouring the Main Forum here today.

I see some members ( mostly new but a few old) who felt the need to write a Post saying something to the extent of " Cool man, thanks for your post"

Well, quite honestly a simple "Thanks" with the icon will suffice.

And of course you can post with a sentence saying "thanks" but on top of this you really should contribute some kind of commentary that will at least be "adding" somewhat to the discussion.

It does not have to be masterpiece writing but something that is at least a little insightful or maybe helpful instead of just typing in "thanks" .

Otherwise it's just unnecessary.

Okay, anyway end of my semi-rant lol
#arrrggghhhh #great post thanks #great post thanks

If you are one of the members posting 'short shots' like that...and wonder why those posts are being deleted....read the post above this one.

Yeah, I thought better of it. Didn't want to detract from the main point.

But Robert, how else will they drive traffic to their sites without posting for sig exposure?

If you take that away from them, all those marketers might have to do some... actual marketing...

It's a common misconception that a lot of new marketers have. What they don't understand yet is that 97% of the time no one will click on their signature links and mark them up as a clueless person who have no value to add.

People will only click signature links if they 'perceive' you as a valuable person to them along with the idea that the link in your signature will give them more value for clicking on it.

This isnt true. People click on signatures that are written correctly, almost regardless of what is written by the user...

This may be debatable. I know for for me personally, when I see "drive by posting" with no value whatsoever added I just do not even look at Sig at all.

I do not look at it without thinking. Almost subconsciously bypass it.

I've found it to be the content of the ad and not what I post. If I put the right wording in my sig. I will get a flood of visitors.

Try putting "$10,000 per month" in your sig. and see what happens.

Somewhere in there add the words "easy" or "secret" or "push button" and then the real magic happens.

    Hi Robert,

It is so tough for folks to grasp the concept: you become valuable in the eyes of others by adding value wherever you pop up.

Example; it'd be easy to take 5 seconds to say, "great post", but it is a bit more time and energy-consuming to address you by name, to share my thoughts and to expound on this subject.

Of course, doing the extra mile bit is where the name, the rep, the friendships, the value, and all that business-building stuff, resides.

If you will just care, just enough, to share something valuable, each time you post, and to be authentic in sharing your thoughts, goodness will things turn for you, near and short term. Namely, for starters, your posts will not get deleted, helping you gain exposure.

Then, as you gain more exposure and keep adding value, success will slowly and steadily flow your way.

Thanks Robert, spot on as always.

    Thanks Ryan.

Yeah, they ended up putting this in Off Topic section. It was totally intended for Main Forum where this problem takes place.

    Oh well.

To me that seems obvious as the first sentence of my post says "Main Forum"

Really perplexing and makes me wonder who in the heck is monitoring this stuff lol

This is only done with the intention to increase post count or may be we should consider that they do not know what to contribute on that particular post!
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11202642].message }}
  • I would like to add that it may be tiring and takes longer to comment in a more detailed manner that would contribute to the discussion. I believe the payoff, in the long run, is good. I have yet to establish any sort of rapport and that's okay. At least I won't be labelled as the mindless thank you zombie.
