Apple purchased Placebase in July to replace Google Maps? - Computerworld Blogs

Of course, it is speculation as to what Apple may do, but it makes sense.

If Google continues its trend toward competing with allies, how long before it's battling on so many fronts that its core business declines?

    interesting.

I think this is awesome news..
At the rate google is going..well..it will be interesting to see whether google lasts into the next decade.

    There is hope yet.

Do you know of any other news articles that indicates 'allies' are moving away from google products?

If enough allies move away from google products, balance of power might just be restored.

      That's the first I've seen.

But, would those allies make big deal out of it, or just do it behind the scenes?

This one only made it out because there are people that watch every thing Apple does for the smallest hint of what they might do next.
