I don't mean here, but I've noticed that a lot of forums, websites, and even social media seems to be drying up.

Is the internet dying?

  • I've never seen the online world more bustling, busy and engaging.

All depends on the pair of glasses you choose to wear everyday, aka, your chosen mindset.

PS...Although I would say more folks are gravitating toward blogging
  • Yes, indeed a lot of forums, websites are drying up but I think, the internet is still alive and kicking. It's only that people are changing their choices and moving towards new paltforms.

    • Yeah, I have to agree. My guess is that people are on their celphones more and more. Forums and other platforms that I'm on just don't have the appeal or something that those devices have. Maybe mobile-friendliness is an issue.

Yet, there still are a lot of people around. Just not the bustling crowd that it was say 8 years ago.

  • The new inevitably replaces the old. Newer better websites and forums are created and existing ones become less popular. Facebook is massive now... Will it be in 5, 10, 20 years time or will another social media platform overtake it?

    • I've thought Facebook would head south for years, but they keep evolving. "Change or die", or whatever Darwin said. I just don't want to be a T-Rex to all the mammals.
  • No all are active in newer websites now. Everyone in online addicted to newer things. So that all are not available in known websites.
  • Personally I thought that people started using internet more often, especiialy when smartphones and laptops were created.
