Entrepreneurs are defined by their actions rather than their qualities, but being comfortable with risk and having the ability to evaluate a business opportunity would be a couple of essential attributes.

There may be certain "challenges" (etc.) however if you're determined enough you will just see them as something to learn from that will make you more successful. The more you learn/progress the closer to "Success" you will be.

I think you should be an open minded person, strong and your determination to succeed and giving up is not/never your choice.

I am a forex trader and I am working in the forex market since 2015. As an entrepreneur I believe hard work, perseverance and a proper strategy are always required. Apart from these, in order to be a good entrepreneur one should have a pure vision of his work. From my experience I have seen that there were certain moments, when I faced losses due to lack of proper education about forex market and due to lack of proper analytical ability.

C,mon guys life is too short, you might get hit with an autonomous, electric truck tomorrow, for all we know?

Or go an see the latest sick joke Star Wars, with Darth jr, and his Terminator hand, (and Micheal Jackson silver glove, probably).

I'm going to give a serious answer.

The vast majority of us prefer the comfort and dependability of a steady paycheck, and someone telling us what to do. Not that we are subservient, but being an employee is more consistent with our self image.

A few of us don't mind the risk. And it's a big risk. A favorite quote of mine is "When you are self employed, there is no income ceiling. But there is no floor either".

Some of us are self employed because we just aren't smart enough, or social enough to be employed. But a very few are simply not afraid of the.... uncertainty....of entrepreneurship.

A good question might be Who do you identify with? The employees or the business owner?

For example, I'm seeing every company I go into (even as a customer) as a business owner. It isn't good or bad, it's just the point of view I have.

Would you feel completely comfortable making a profit instead of a steady paycheck?

Most people wouldn't. If you have never owned your own business and are excited about the possibility of setting your own hours, and not having to take orders from a boss...you are not going to be very happy owning your own business....because the wrong things appeal to you.

But if working 14 hours a day, with little compensation for the first several months...with the expectation that yo'll figure it out and eventually build a profitable business...you may have what it takes.

Over the years, I've had employees tell me that they would like my job. I tell them "You can have it right now. You just need to do what I did, invest every dollar you had, run up your credit cards to the limit, make no money for the first six months, and deal with suppliers, overhead of $10,000 month, and babysit employees. Have at it".

I was at a trade show once setting up my display. The guy that worked for the company setting up across the isle from us said "You own the company right? That's what I want to do"

And I said "Really? You're being paid to be here. I'm paying $5,000 to be here. I had to pay for everything you see here (in my booth). And I'm not guaranteed any sales."

If you would rather be the person paying to be at the trade show, you may have what it takes.

But even the people that start their own business, maybe 80% of them, after a year, would rather just not deal with it all and go back to a regular job.

You need a goal to aim for firstly, then you can set things in motion otherwise you will get distracted easily and won't see it through.

Being well rounded.

Heart - I don't like to word passion but is your heart in what you're doing. Do you feel like you're making an impact and you're being your best self in your business?
Grit - Being an entrepreneur can be the hardest role in the world but also very rewarding. You'll have days where things are rolling and you closed a 100K client. The next hour the team and systems are falling apart and you ponder why you do what you do. Those who continue to plow through and not give up will eventually see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Open Mind - Don't think you know everything and more than everyone. Listen to your team and customers on what is working and what isn't, not being afraid to pivot quickly if things aren't working.
Sales - You're always selling. Even if it's not to clients or direct to consumers, you're selling your vision to your team, selling the plan to investors and banks, etc.

All in all, just like a being the best at anything, give it 100% of your effort, not 95%, day in day out and you'll eventually see some traction to succeed.

An entrepreneur need to predict the future and need a proper planning.

A lot of people talk about passion, but it has never served me well. I find that the subjects I'm CURIOUS about tend to drive me better than passion.

So I homeschool my son. He has a strong interest in entrepreneurship so I have been looking for ways to define exactly this so I can coach these qualities into him. I'll share what I've learned so far.

Permission- My son often looks for someone to tell him that it's okay to do this or that and this is incredibly common with people. But there is no boss but you so you have to learn to give yourself permission to act. You have to be able to trust that you are making the best informed decision when getting things done and accept that you will sometimes be wrong. More than anything, this means you don't need anyone's approval other than your own.

Problem solving- My son often starts sentences with, "I can't..." as if that is that. I have had to teach him to erase this concept and make him understand that what he has is a problem that needs a solution. Instead of "I can't..." we ask ourselves "How can I..." This becomes a process of research, decision, implementation, review and revision.

Value- Everyone approaches business the same way- they make money by giving someone something, a service a product, etc. But the most successful business owners I have met approach it from another perspective- they seek to add value to the lives of others. Their focus is always on helping people, by adding something useful or valuable to the lives of the customers they serve.

An argument against passion- everyone says follow your passion, but I don't think that's quite right. It's important to believe in what you do, but if you're passionate about helping others, this could literally be anything. I find curiosity to be a far more useful metric. If I'm curious about something, I will explore it instead of binge watching a TV show after the kids have gone to bed. I'll want to share what I've learned with others. In short, if I am curious about something, I will want to immerse myself in it. And that's how you master skills in short amounts of time.

Anyhow, sorry for the rant, I just love business, I have come to love marketing and I am often just bursting at the seams to share what I pick up.
