Mirror android device to PC

Looking for someone that has experience / not just recommendations.

I need to mirror an android tablet to a PC.

Currently using Windows 7.

My plan is to buy a Samsung Tab A 10.1 with S Pen (only $250) and run Onenote and use it to create a whiteboard that I can write / draw with and record the screen.

Want to use something proven / reliable to mirror the screen to PC.

  • Hm... I know that Asus devices have standard software for but what about samsung tablets - I'm not the greatest expert
  • Chrome Remote Desktop

I use it all the time now to look at my Windows 7 home desktop from my android phone when I'm in my car or otherwise away from the office. Both devices have to be On, of course (eg. I have another tablet, a Windows one, that I use as a travel computer...if I'm not logged into that and it's not On, I can see it's on the network but can't access it through this app). Also works the other way around. Pretty awesome. Actions taken on the phone happen on the desktop as well. So that should take care of any "sleep" setting issues.

In November this same question occurred to me, and I "asked the experts" on FB. They gave me a ton of responses, some better than others...and this one the guy said "It'll do exactly what you want it to do"...and it has.

  • I use ApowerMirror, which is easy to use.
    1. Connect your Android device and your computer with the same WiFi. (Or you can use a USB cable.)
    2. Open ApowerMirror on your Android device and on your computer.
    3. Click on the mirroring button on the interface of ApowerMirror App.
    4. The App will detect your PC automatically.
    5. You can just tab the computer it detected.

    • Anyone can google and I spent many hours researching. The problem is not every solution will work with every device. I tested a couple and had no luck. Which is why I asked for those with experience to respond. So your post is useless.

In the end, I just went and upgraded my laptop to one with a touchscreen that can use a pen. Works perfect and I don't have to mirror anything.
