Is the new Star Wars Movie a Christmas Movie? Released to take advantage of the holiday crowd and merchandising. It depends how you define it.

Neither were about Christmas directly, not stories based on Christmas.

Were you thinking of Die Hard 2 by the way. More appropriate to the season at least.

Die Hard and Die Hard 2 both take place on Christmas Eve.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

Star Wars is now a Christmas movie due to Disney.

    Yep!

And it is more of a way to get over, crappy rehashes of Xmas songs at the shopping ctr.

Yes, Star Wars opening crowds was thankfully down from the first one, so people are learning that Darth Vaders comedy relief, isn't going to cut it.

Unfortunately the stupid director, is signed up for the next few years, so expect more of the same.

I think that when they finally get rid of the stupid kid, with the silly mask, then it will get back on track, Rouge One, really showed how good a job Disney can do, when an idiot director doesn't come up with a bad script.

He most likely dogs breakfast Tron 2, as well, great visually, but pretty bad script.

Nonsence, Darth Vader Jr, in the current one, wears a scary mask, for no good reason, has a hand bollowed from the Terminator set, and wears a Micheal Jackson silver glove for laughs, (well, he doesn't but he would if he could).

But l heard that there is a cameo appearance of Ja Ja, just to take attention away from Darth jr.

        Might work?

When it comes out on DVD, and ends up on the bottom shelf, near the childrens section, and the black and white Sci Fi, section, in the back of s barely viable video store, that smells like tobacco smoke and toilet cleaner, then l might give it a miss.

The debate continues if Die Hard is a Christmas movie. But I agree with everyone else, that you are a Christmas tragedy.

I'm going to take the opposite view and say I don't think Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Yes, it takes place on Christmas but it isn't about Christmas and if you took out all of the Christmas references you'd still have pretty much the same movie.

It's funny, my wife and I were talking about this on a walk from town two days ago.

    This is my take . . .

It's a Wonderful Life is generally taken to be a Christmas movie, and yet it isn't about Christmas. I think you have to ask yourself: What IS a Christmas movie?

To me: it's a movie that references Christmas and includes the Christmas spirit.

    Based on that?

    Die Hard 1 and 2?

    Christmas flicks.

(Though my wife doesn't agree and she's usually right about everything.)

But l don't recommend that anyone eat a 1000 year old twinkie.

    Except Claude of course.
