Help my friend choose an easy Pen name

Hi fellow Warriors

I have a friend who is looking to start a blog under a pen name. The reason is that his real name is a bit hard to pronounce and remember. His real name is Mahmoud Elshalakani and most of his potential readers will be in English speaking countries.

He approached me with the name: Omar as ab alternative ( he is a big fan of the International actor Omar Sharif )

He will mention his real name and picture on the blog and will come clear that Omar is not his real one.

What last name you suggest to Match with Omar ?

There are 2 ways to approach this you can go with a last name that sounds safe such as

    Harper

or a name that is a simplified version of his real last name such as

    Lakani

    so

    his name would be

    Omar Harper

    or

    Omar Lakani

    obviously

Lakani is a better match for Omar than Harper would be!

Why not just calling him Mo for short. Not to be confused with Moe of 3 stooges fame.

    Little Omar?

    j/k

The name Mahmoud is not that unusual - I've known two people who had that as their last name - in the southeastern part of the US.

If I saw the name "Omar Mahmoud" - I would be able to pronounce/spell/remember but I would not think of it as an 'English' name. Is that the goal?

Anyway - my suggestion would be to use 'Mahmoud' as his last name and add a more generic 'English sounding' first name such as Phillip or Daniel or ....

    Omar LeMar.

I always wanted to use the User name Doctor Hector Proctor.

    Or maybe Alabaster Taliwacker.

I think Piffle Whiffle Riffle Sniffle is catchy.

Riffle went to Elementalary School but was so disruptive his parents had to resort to Gnome Schooling.

In class he was teased about his height, that's just low.

But he has extensive experience with Urinal cakes, or Urinal cookies, Urinal donuts, (no seriously) Urinal mints and toilet lollies.

Security staff at the local Wooster Shopping Ctr and Gun Range, keep a lookout as he tends to disobey the court order and head for the nearest one.

The toilet block near the food court isn't a store, staff keep telling him, but nope, he goes there every time, and listening to "Left the Cake out in the Rain" doesn't help.

Yes, luck and morbid curiosity were on my side.

I didn't mention what happens when you go into Unisex toilets, but women running out, screaming is not uncommon.
