Independent fashion designers or big fashion brands?

Hi everyone,

I've just joined the Warrior Forum today so first off, thanks for having me!! I hope to join more discussions!!!

I'm Penny, an easy-going gal from OZ On Facebook one day, I chanced upon this shopping site with independent designers and thought hey, they look pretty good. (links removed by moderator). So that night itself, I was out with some friends.. drank some wine.... had a chat with my mate and she mentioned that she wouldn't buy a dress, or any fashion item online unless it's branded and familiar to her. I thought it was silly because I've never really been the kind of person into brands cause as long as the material's good, it lasting and it's pretty, I'M SOLD. I don't know if I should be ashamed for wanting "unknown" brands?

Which brings me to my question... When shopping online, would you go for independent fashion designers or familiar reputable fashion brands and why?

I'd really like to know what you think. I'll be happy to listen to any opinions!

Thanks heaps,
Penny

  • While i don't have lots of time for choosing collection i select brands, because of i think band don't make me fool and no need to give lots of time. While i have lots of time for choosing product ,i select independent fashion designer, because fashion designer give me custom design as well as my choice and i can get lots of options from them.
  • i would go for familiar reputable fashion brands. because they already have a name behind them . most people buy the hype and name thats why you see gucci selling out .
  • Hi Penny,

Good Day from the Land of the Kiwis, to your East

I have a boxcar hobo fashion sense and shop at Walmart, taking 1 step up from burlap sacks, not owning pants. So independent aka unknown fashion brand all the day.

I just buy ironic t-shirts online or secure via markets in remote corners of the world, so def not a big box guy.

  • I keep it simple. Cheap solid color shirts and cheap jeans. Brands do not mean anything to me. And if someone is going to look down on me for purchasing my clothing from Walmart or thrift stores, then they don't need to be in my life. I don't care what you wear or what car you drive. If you are a nice, humble, and trustworthy person, it is all that matters to me.
  • Anythin' makes my boobies look dropdead perky while simultaneously maxin' out my fanj/ass mwahmwahmwah axis gets my vote.

I dunno -- mebbe try sum outfit combos & factor in IRL scenarios.

    Kinda ...

    POSIN'

    RECLININ'

    BENDIN' OVAH'

    See what happens.

  • WHAT!!! She is into fashion and lives in AU, need l say more!

True, black T-shirts and jeans is my preferred choice, or l tend to adopt Einsteins approach to clothing, and wear the same choice over and over.
