A lot of people have personal accounts. It is hard to avoid FB when all your friends are on it and makes annoucements there.

True, l tried FB, but hate the format.

At least with a forum you can go away and come back a few days later, with FB or similar format you have to sift through hundreds of posts.

And put in a post, down the bottom, which l also don't like.

My mom doesn't have one... until recently when she really needed to create one so that she can use Facebook messenger to contact ONE person. I'm tempted to deactivate my account so I can tune myself out of all the fuss of everyone else's lives. Social media is just depressing. We all need to go out and live.

I have a personal account under a pseudonym to hide my shame.

I was forced to start a business page as it was pretty difficult to convince my clients that they should have a page, when I didn't.

Facebook and Twitter are tools of the Devil. :-)

I have a personal Facebook, but I'm as active on it as I am on my business page. I'm not enthusiastic about sharing every single happening in my life like other people do. It makes you easy prey for doxxing. And frankly, the news feed can get toxic. Too much politics these days.

I recall this one Filipino VA I was quite keen on hiring. Good work samples and all. I decided to check his Facebook profile.

He didn't even bother to work on his privacy settings. Suffice to say, I moved on to someone else.

a deleted all my family members from my facebook last fall..i moved to the other side of the country to get away from them..and then added them to face book ..

now ..claude about the bedwetting..

i never wet the bed when i was in vegas .. but i passed out drunk with a beer or a bottle of hard alcohol in my hand once or a few times more than once ..and spilled it all over my lap..

but i would never put that online either ..

I do all through my personal account. Keeps me transparent, genuine, and ensures I am not 2-faced LOL. Any blogger or reader who met me offline says the entrepreneur online is the same guy. This is one big factor in my online success. I have nothing to hide, and hide behind nothing. The fear thing ain't really there.

In 2005, I heard one of my colleagues mention facebook, I asked him "What's facebook?" and he was like "You really don't know? it's an online site where you upload your pictures and your personal information then post updates about everything you do". I was like "rrrriiiiiiight!". I became anti-social since then.

I do have friends and I am friendly so I'm not an introvert. The only platform that attracted me was Twitter because it was an interesting concept and they are privacy advocates. I also have some social media accounts but only to follow news and watch videos. Well, maybe I am partially social.
