A severe thunderstorm barreled through New York City yesterday.

I was treated to a neat light show and filmed a 5 minute long video from 17 stories above Manhattan.

I counted 20 cloud to ground strikes in the video but observed well over 100 for the 90 minute storm.

Quite impressive.

Saw images of that lightening on the national news - pretty impressive stuff. They had a great photo of lightening striking the Statue of Liberty - and the Staten Island ferry (I think that's what it was).

One of the most spiritual experiences I've ever had was watching a great thunderstorm rage on....while flying in a jet above the clouds at night. Surreal.

As a child I was very frightened of lightning. So I would force myself to stand in front of the big bay window in our living room whenever there was a storm.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

It would need to be a big bay window.

No, Claude was partially sucked out of the window, (he grabbed an officers gun, and was aiming for a slimy, green creature) then had a spiritual experience while being slapped about by a slimy, green creature, and watching a thunderstorm.

We have 2 dogs (80 lbs and 105 lbs) who live with three cats...and they do just fine together.

What relevance does that have to the thread?
