Help!! Gmail Problem

A friend of mine is using gmail and I am using Thunderbird. Beginning today, she is getting ads over my emails to her that offer something to do with the contents of my emails to her.

Anyone know if this is another income stream for Google or how to turn it off?

This really irritates me and makes me think "Big Brother" has gone too far.

Anyone got any ideas?

Tell her to go into settings and turn Web Clips off.
