Windows 9 Does Exist....

Apparently Microsoft is releasing this for w8 users, etc as a free download.

Windows 9 might come as a free download, but only to certain users - BGR

Confirmed: Windows 9 to be a free upgrade for Windows 8 users - BGR

And you have to have W10 installed to get hold of this, so if you are past reverting back there is still some hope.

Those articles are over 4 years old. I'm pretty sure that they would have released it by now. But they haven't. And they won't. Because it doesn't exist. This article from the same site explains it.

It does exist Mark, (see 2018 video installation, etc below) but not officially, and a product key is still required.

it is an option for w10 users, that are stuck with 10, but updates? Probably not.

Fine. Go install it and prove it. Since you won't, you need to understand that any hacker catering to idiot users can call their hacked stuff whatever they want.

      Over and out.

I agree that verifying that it is genuine would be difficult.

It isn't genuine. It's a fake put out by a hacker!

From the video description itself: "Could this be the lost version of Windows? Well, not really. It's just an unofficial mod of Windows 8.1 Embedded made to look like Windows 7. Nevertheless, it's pretty interesting to take a look at."

    From a YT comment:
I wish in "about system", it said "windows 9" instead of "Windows 8.1 embedded"

So, even in fantasy land, it's not Windows 9. It's a modified version of Windows 8.1 embedded.

Well, if we can argue whether or not ghosts are real, we should be able to argue whether or not gremlins exist.

      Windows 9. Gremlins. Get it?

      Oh, never mind. :-)

Someone being nice and thanking me, l will have to give that some time to sink in.

But the Windows site has no mention of Windows 9, so as others have been saying someone created it, and yeah, risky to load, eventhough it allows installation without having to wipe your hard disk and install w 8 or 7.

Here is one for Apple, lol, l know a bit like putting a mini moke engine in a BMW, but still, you could partition it, and keep it buried til needed......or when you need a good laugh.

      What is Windows 10 S? ( DON'T GET IT! ) - YouTube

Apple must be laughing their ar****es off?

Do you even pay attention to the shit that you post?

That video is from May of 2017.

It's not a new version of Windows. It's really a mode to make it more secure, mostly designed for educational use. Think of a high school that doesn't want students downloading all kinds of games and other shit to the school laptops.

It can be turned off easily and reverted to the regular Windows 10.

    I stand corrected.

    https://www.techradar.com/au/news/do...icrosoft-store

Although if you revert back to W10, and want to change it back to w10 S, from what l read elsewhere you would need to reinstall it from scratch again.

Apple offers student discounts, but there is no information on changing from student to admin, so it looks like the teacher, etc sets it up, as in older versions of windows OS.

So Apple has a more flexible option, although more pricey even with student discounts.

      WTF are you talking about?

Apple doesn't have a more flexible option. Nobody is forcing anyone to use 10 S. They could just use Windows 10 and have all the flexibility they would have in an Apple operating system.

Every single time you start one of your WIndows bashing threads you just end up looking clueless.

    So weird.
Most of the people who use even Windows 10 constantly complaining.
In my opinion the best version is Win7.

Yeah, l know, Windows 7, (pro) is the nicest looking of the bunch, XP is more of a draft-horse, than model, (l have both).

Well l actually have windows 7 Pro, with a virtual version of XP, and an older one with XP.

It probably has something to do with the updates not being available and people believing the hype around "if l don't get my updates, my OS will be riddled with viruses, or apparently Word will be, so l'd better get an OS that has them".

I haven't updated 7 Pro for 1.5 years so far, no issues, at all!

People putting way to much importance on updates, is the real issue.

I was a very happy user of Windows 7, but skipped Windows 8 due to a number of reasons (lack of Start menu being one). However I took an early plunge into Windows 10 (after testing their Technical Preview), and despite a few issues in the first couple of years, I have to say Windows 10 has matured into a very able OS, and can rightfully be called the true successor to Windows 7.

Or perhaps BEST to stop spamming the forum with nonsense one-liners....if he wanted to 'decide' he would have read the thread.
