    The lady spoke Cantonese and it is quite possible that she originated from Hong Kong since most mainland Chinese would speak Mandarin instead.

    What was particularly disgraceful was that the crowd was egging her to fight on. There was a male voice telling her to beat the black woman up.

    Indeed in recent years, manners and civility in general had deteriorated in Hong Kong. Sometimes, you see 80 year olds getting on a bus and nobody would give their seat up for them. In a similar vien, I saw a fight on the streets between 2 woman over a discarded paper box recently.

    Derek, I lived in San Francisco all my life and went to high school with many blacks and Chinese - never saw anything like this.

    Yeh, you guessed it, all the usual stereo types were true: Chinese on the honor roll, Blacks in sports.

    I know things have changed but this was an extreme scenario.
