Come-on, I know you have one......or ten...lol

The Warrior Forum is truly the best, don't get me wrong....this is no knock on it at all. I wouldn't change a single thing & thank Allen often for everything he does to present this forum to us.

This place is like family to me. But like any family....when you live with people long enough you will start to pick up on little annoyances....little meaningless habits that just irks you...rubs you the wrong way at times.
  • I love my sister with all my heart, but the way she clicks her nails on the coffee table constantly...well, after a while it's like nails on a chalkboard...
  • My brother I would kill for.....but the way he chews his food...I just have to leave the room at times...
There are many like me who spend a good portion of their days here. I always have the warrior forum open...stopping in every so often through-out the day to search for information or read the latest posts.....after a while, you start picking up on things...things that tend to get under your skin....what are they?

Please...NO NAMES!! No finger pointing, name calling, he said-she said crap....just general situations you picked up on that tend to bug you...

For starters.....some of mine:
  • For those replying to posts who feel the need to quote the entire 8 paragraphs....just to reference 1 line of it & say "nice post, I couldn't agree more"
  • People who have signatures that link to site they have that claim...."I made 40K in 1 week, follow me and I'll show you how"....then start threads asking for help because they can't make money....
  • People who refuse to use the search feature for information they know has been asked 1000 times before.......(ex: which is better...aweber or getresponce? )
Should be fun....
What's some of yours?

I think your second one is my favorite pet peeve...somebody who starts a thread saying "what is an affiliate link" and then they are selling a product they made themselves about how to make 2k per day with affiliate marketing...i love it

One thing that peeves me in when noobys come on and make 15 100% worthless comments so they can pm somebody.

    Its a great forum though!

Hypo moment: (Tina mentioned this above)...People who see the answer in the posts above them, but then still say the same damn answer themselves. This goes on for 10+ posts, and then I wonder if people are just too lazy to read other people's replies, and are trying to increase their post count?

They literally say the same answer, and say the "I agree with such and such, it's THIS", but the answer is in their post... and everyone else's.

I have seen this soo many times, and I read the FAQ, and stickies which also tell people to use the thankyou button, or simply not post at all if it's already on the forum, already been discussed, or already answered.

So my pet peeve then, is people who don't apply the faq, or stickies to themselves, but to everyone else.

Also people who have to "post" thankyou... as a response, rather than just click the "thanks button" and this applies to old and new warriors alike. I wonder what is the motive then, behind "saying" thankyou, when clearly there is a button for this?

Also the negativity, some people come out with ideas and threads- and immediately everyone who HATES the idea will post, and suddenly the entire thread has turned negative.

Anyone who says otherwise, is told that they have the wrong idea too, and then huge arguments start over what is ethical, and then it turns into "who" is ethical, then the threads get locked or removed.

At the end of the day, the person didn't ask to be bashed about what was or was not ethical, and their original question is taken out of context. I see this so many times.

This is annoying as well, especially if the person didn't mean any harm in asking or posting what they did... and it's not fair to some warriors that others do this.

Those things are found within this forum, but don't necessarily relate to the forum itself, but rather just a few users.

I of course am not perfect, and I am sure I am some one's peeve...lol.

I can't stand when people reply to a thread and its obvious they didn't do one or both of the following:

Didn't read the original post (I sometimes wonder how low reading comprehension levels have gone)

Didn't read all the posts in the thread, especially if someone made a useful post about a tactic or technique and is taking the time to answer questions in the thread. (Yes, I know a thread that is 4 pages+ is a pain to read every post, but sorry, you look like a complete donkey's rear end when you post something that has already been said on page 2 and 3 by other donkey rear ends who did what you did.)

People who post questions and get a handfull of truly knowledgeable Warriors, some of whom have been here since the beginning, who give them some world class advice and then never say thanks, hit the thanks button, or return to the thread.

People who change their response after the fact once others have indirectly pointed out a much better answer. I guess they think it makes them looks smarter and the other posters simply redundent. I totally lost respect for a guy that did that to me once. And I've seen it a few times.

Idiots who spam the OT forum with commercial sig files and no brains.

People who send you a 'friends request' and when you look at their profile they have 1300 friends and 15 posts in the few weeks the've been here.

Newbies who come on here and make a thousand posts in the first month and act like they are experts when in fact they are just posuers. Never made a dime online...only regurgitate crap everybody has seen a million times.

But here is my #1 pet peeve, and it really isn't that important...a lot of the threads where I get a ton of 'thanks' are threads that get deleted and I lose the 'thanks'. What peeves me is that some of those thanks are from Warriors I truly respect and appreciate the thumbs-up for my thoughts. I bet I've lost a hundred thanks like that.

      Other than that...

I love this place and hyper-ventilate even if it goes off for 5 minutes. I am in and out 12 hours a day even on days I purposely don't boot my browser so I won't get hung up here.

What I have found is that other forums seem like cold, mechanical bulletin boards, whereas the WF is really full of personality and spirit.

I guess the thing that gets me the most that hasn't been mentioned is provacateurs. That is people who, no matter what the subject is, they will have to be contrary or say something a little nasty to provoke an argument. There are only a few but 'there's always one in every crowd'. .

It is just about 'what goes up must come down' and since the spirit is so good here, when someone rips it off, it bites.

As (it was either Bambi or Thumper) says 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anything' - hence many times I will write something snotty and then just hit the back button without posting it. I seem to feel better afterward and haven't antagonized anyone (mostly).

#2 is relative newbies who start acting like condescending experts after 10 posts or so, which is fine, except when they give wrong information. Best to lurk and learn for a while before posturing.

I'm not sure if this is a peeve, or not. I'll call it an amusing
type of peeve because I find it very amusing. Has to do
    with wso's.

Someone offers truly spectacular income claims and is
selling it for $7. I always, always want to make a post
asking them why they're not doing it.

Oh yes, another wso peeve and this is a peeve. I'm not
sure when this trend really took off, perhaps earlier this
year. Anymore it seems the first half a dozen wso posts
are people begging- oops, asking for a freebie- oops, I mean
    a review copy.

Of course there are times when the wso indicates review
copies are available. But that seems to be an evolution in
wso copy because of the expectation for them.

There are a few in here who always seem like someone
peed in their cereal that morning. There's one in particular,
and honestly I'd love to mention this person's name. But of
    course I won't.

I can relate to most peeve's posted so far in some shape or form....some I didn't even know where peeve's until now.

I'm hoping that those who are guilty of some of these peeve's will see themselves & how it bothers others to a degree & maybe mend their ways, making the warrior forum an even more enjoyable experience...

    Here's what I really dislike.

People who say "what do you do about X?" and people go and post what they do, and other people come along and say "no, that's wrong." No it isn't! That's what they do! Don't preach at people about your One True Way to do things, just say what you do.

People who gripe about how other people run their business differently and they don't understand why. Like "if you make so much money on X, why do you do Y?" - I mean, seriously. Sometimes we have personal passions - we're not 100% business. You may as well ask Steven Wagenheim why he records music if he makes so much money writing articles.

People who can't make any money, so they come in here and complain that NOBODY can make any money and we're all lying.

People who see something unethical, then come in here and accuse EVERYONE of being unethical.

The list goes on, but I'll stop there. The common thread is overgeneralisation - someone did this, they must all do this!

There are times when it makes sense NOT to read every post before answering the OP.

When asking for opinions, or similar, I like to give an immediate, off-the-cuff response. One that reflects how I feel about a subject. After that, I may go back and read the other posts to see if there was something I hadn't considered.

    Oh, my pet peeve?

    Idiots.

I can't mention all of the names because there were WAY too many. But when the [ YOU ] code was explained 1,000 times over, in simple, direct language and people were getting ANGRY(!) about seeing their name on the forum.

They didn't even have to read every post, just one or two out of a few hundred and they should have been able to figure it out.

Finally, the other pet peeve, as ironic as it is, is threads that try to find the negative aspects about the WF. And then all the people who share their pet peeves.

Another pet peeve? See, you got me started. The misues of possessive apostrophes.

    (Sorry, couldn't resist)

Oh! And what about those people who say "Sorry, couldn't resist"? As though that somehow excuses their rude comments.

    All the best,
