So I've been gone a long time... What happened to the forum?

    Just going through a transition. There are still long-term Members (like Kay King) keeping the forum alive.

    Lack of leadership;

    Ownership implemented policies that drove experienced members away;

    Spam overran the forum, driving other members away;

    Lower member activity, along with various changes by management, caused the WSO section to become unprofitable for advertisers, thus driving them away;

    Junk filled the WSO forum, driving even more members away;

    Overall forum experience level declined making forum discourse lower caliber.

    Prior management sent uninformed threatening messages to some members, many of whom left.

    I think that about sums it up.

      Not, quite. There's plenty more to kvetch about, but I'm going to bed. I'm exhausted from pounding a major part of what's wrong with this place, into submission. Not that at does any good. The degradation of the forum perpetrated by certain individuals is becoming a cancer on this place.

      At least we'll know who to blame when the finally shutter this place. They'll live on in infamy.

    The WF is still is going strong, but in a much different way from years past. For example those who contribute worthwhile content still draw traffic, leverage the network, develop joint ventures, etc. It is quite a viable forum for advertising - even to those who come to merely whine and complain.
