How does this site get to use all their photos?

awfulannouncing.com is a great sports blog/news site which has many photos that I'm assuming they didn't take, they don't own, and yet they don't pay to use them as this would take thousands of dollars per week, no? They can't possibly have time to ask each photographer who took the photo for permission, that would take days or weeks? Where do they find these topical sporting event photos and how do they use them for free? It seems like such a simple question.

Suggest you look up 'media rights' with a google search. Of course they pay...

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Plenty of sites with free images, but there is usually something wrong with them for it to be free.

I picked up a great set of Combi-van images for free, with tyre level, and color issues, (virtually impossible to get for free, or they are journalist images only) and with my skill set was able to fix them up for commercial use.

Googling free image sites is the easiest way, and there are some real bargains there, just as long as you Photoshopping skills are up to it.
