I am looking for ideas or business opportunities to invest in. What would you do?

Moved to off topic as threads lilke this are spam magnets....there is no 'wrong' answer.

I would not go to a forum where 90% of the posters are looking for 'free' and ask them what to do with my money. But that's just me.

If I did ask for advice it would be from those who routinely invest 5 figures of their own money.

and be careful of the con man that routinely invests other people's money. and if you receive private messages from people spouting an opportunity for the 'next big thing' ignore them because if it were true they would not be lurking forums for the 'next big fish.'

I suggest you transfer the money to a reputable fund manager, me.

I will then proceed to invest your funds across three different asset classes:
    1) Wine
    2) Women
    3) Song

(or if you're a younger person, Sex, Drugs, Rock n Roll.)

I can make no guarantees about what sort of return this will generate for you, or that you'll get any of your money back. I can guarantee though that I'll have a bloody good time "investing" it on your behalf.

Seriously though, the only advice I can give is to invest some of your time (and perhaps a bit of your money) on learning how different asset classes work as well as their benefits and risks.

    20K isn't much.

IF THIS is all you have, you are limited in your opportunities.

Although I agree with Kay, the WF is the worst possible place to ask this question, it is, however, your lucky day cause I'm here.

So, what would I do? My homework.

As an investment adviser I would ask you what you EXPECT from your investment? What do you think it can do?

Are you of a speculative nature? Can you afford to lose it all? Are you looking for ongoing returns?

How fast do you want to go? How much TIME do you have to look after it? Will you be involved, hands on or hands off?

Are you seeking an absentee owned cash cow? Long term gains?
    Recurring income?

    Passive income?

What, besides money do you bring with you? Capital and money is one of the easiest things to come by. What else do you offer?

And that scratches the surface of the questions I would want answered, and then, depending on your answers, may be able to offer some suggestions.

As it is, totally pointless question and as noted, a spam magnet, so it is in the right sub forum.

Buy food with a long shelf life...and invest your weekly grocery money into a WSO.

A done for you WSO would do the trick.

Goes without saying what l am doing now, (short trading, maybe long).

But yeah, if anyone here has a relatively quick and easy way to make a zillion, they won't mention it here.

But if it is slow, hard and may not work, then most likely.

The thing about quick and easy is it typically takes a hell of a lot of hard work, persistence, failure and ,....a lot of other nasty stuff to come up with it, in the first place.

So, not the sort of thing you would happily give out freely, but it doesn't really matter what it is, nothing is easy, especially in the beginning, but it becomes easy to some and possibly very easy for a few.

And yeah, forget about the few coughing up, (spilling the beans for the mentally challenged) that would take a $1,300 WSO at the very least.

what i did 5 years ago.. was pay off all my credit cards and take a few month vacation in the Philippines..no i made costly mistakes in that vacation .. but would do it again in a second .. or half a second ..just make different expensive mistakes .

now you are asking what I would invest in with 20,000 dollars ..business opportunity wise . there is what i would do but i'm freaking weird so i can't give it as advice to follow ..an my goals are far different and my idea of investing centers around things that either provide income in the future that i can live off of or reduce future expenses ..

there are several businesses i can start for 1000-2000 usd ..and put time in to make about that doing about that from each per month ..

so if you don't know what to do with the 20,000 at this point .. bank most of it or pay of debts..and start something service business you can buy gear and get permits for for 1000 dollars and under..and put in the time to learn how to do a business in your spare time you are not at a job ..

this is a personal view.. but don't think with no business experience you can build a million dollar a year business in a few years.. start a small business with as low monthly overheard as possible in order to start learning basic business skills .

I'm sure the snake charmers will be talking to you soon. Plus the cousin that needs 6 different operations or his wife and kids, will end up out on the street.

Since you ask, I might consider this https://streetshares.com/ one place to put some money into a business with little risk. They invest in Veteran business.bonds.

Dis-clamier this is not investment advice. just my .02

Develop an App. With the right idea, you can make that 20k 10 times over and create a nice stream of income.

Maybe I should of been more clearer.

I already run a few successful businesses. And I do have a lot more to invest if the right opportunity came up.

      Here is what you've given us to work with;

      Original Post;
I am looking for ideas or business opportunities to invest in. What would you do?
      This under the headline:

What would you do if you had $20,000 to invest.

      And now your clarification.

Still not very much to work with, however, I'm going to make ASSUMPTIONS, and feel free to correct (or don't).

FACT: You posted this at the Warrior Forum. You apparently have been a member here for 8 years. You have over 1.000 posts.

So, YOU know what the WF is, and you know the people here.

You have money to invest. YOU apparently are not interested in putting this money back into one of your businesses for growth or scaling up. This 20 thousand, and other monies are RISK investment money. You don't need this money for your business or for your lifestyle. This is above that money.

Since you KNOW what the WF is, then you are looking to invest in something about INTERNET MARKETING.

You know this forum, you've seen those WSO where some guy will do everything for you and make you money, why don't you put some of that money into those ideas?

You can split the 20k into chunks, invest a grand in 20 Warrior ideas, or in two, or dump it all into one thing.

You asked for ideas, and what we would do, and you were told.

What are you really looking for? It appears you want some high risk venture which will turn your 20k into 100k in a short period of time, is this wrong? If so, then what do you want your investment to do?

You've been around here long enough to know how many TROLLS have posted almost identical threads, the amounts vary, but we've seen scores of so-called investors looking for ideas. So far, haven't seen any reports back on if they got any or what happened.

Do you want something NEW? A start-up? Unproven? Untested?

Do you want it to be a hands off investment?

So as not to waste your time, or ours, either take the ideas you've been given, or continue to clarify your intent. As it stands now, it is a spurious question, and we all know the rabbit hole being burrowed with these kinds of posts.

Good luck, hope you find what you are looking for, whatever that is.

      GordonJ

Hey, actually I would need to diversify and then invest. However, I would invest in the food industries, because they are well something we humans or most humans can't do without on a daily basis, so I would split the cash and invest in different companies. Like stocks investments, because there is no way 10 0r 20 companies are going to let me down at the same time, no way, it's much better managing the risk of investing all the cash in one company.

Give it to me. Or put it in your mattress since CCE (cash and cash equivalents) will likely do better than the market this year, just as they did last year.
