Funny Marketing Mishap... they think I am dead... or not?

I am not sure how many people actually do this, but I have a separate Facebook account than my personal one. I actually use these for a few different reasons. Anyways, I made up this name from an old password (which I made up as well). Now I used this name for my facebook, with the first and last name as the fake name.

Out of nowhere, a bunch of people from Australia add me. It's not just a few, but a bunch, and all my age as well. I think, man this is weird...as I know this isn't even a real name, or so I thought.

One day I decide to ask one of these people who exactly this guy really is, as apparently they think I am a "man", named such and such. So the guy tells me that this was a friend of theirs who had DIED in a stabbing. I go oh...ok. and left it at that...

However, I am still wondering why they added me, because if I were dead, how would I be using facebook? Not only this, but just now, another person messaged me on there thinking I am him, asking how I have been.

I clearly told them that I am not this person, and that I am some chick in canada. Then he goes "I don't believe you" and literally starts listing off places they had been, things they had done. He also mentioned how they had exchanged a few words which apparently werent too nice, and then he said "you started acting weird"...

Well from what i understand now, is that basically this person they think I am had some sort of falling out with everyone? But I told this guy 1000 times that the REAL person has since passed away, and I am not him. So no idea why, he doesn't want to believe this, and tells me to stop kidding around etc... and finally just gets mad and leaves.

Is that awkward or what? Naturally, I had searched this name on google, and not turned up any results or names, or news stories about the death or person. But, it's just an awkward coicidence, and I don't think any of these people know this guy is dead either? Or maybe they are having coping issues?

Well anyways, by the sounds of it, this is just a strange mishap and coincidence, and it seems a few bad things transpired between this person and others. So at the end of the day, there are a few lessons to be learned from this:

#1. (as my mentor tells me frequently People will believe what THEY want to believe.

This means that no matter what you tell them, if they really want to believe otherwise, they most certainly will. Sometimes the truth is hard to handle for people.

#2. Life is short, do you really want to spend your time doing what these people did? So we see that altercations took place, and then people are still not over it. Regret is a hard emotion to live with, and most certainly not something you want to have to "cope" with.

So next time you are around someone else, or even are alone, and when you are about to do something, just make sure that it's worth it in the end, and that you will not end up regretting it.

Much the same with people, when they tick you off, or you disagree, as Steve often says on here, to take it "with a grain of salt", and really move on to bigger and better things.

Life is just too short to sit around fighting with people, arguing, and all these kinds of things constantly, especially if you really didn't mean it.

#3: Coincidences REALLY do happen- I have had so many in my life, and people never believe me when I say it either, especially if it relates to them. But they do exist, and do happen, and sometimes they can really be quite the day topper. But at the same time, they can sometimes be a bad thing (such as mistaken identity with a criminal).

#4: Common sense would help alot here- As I mentioned, a dead guy wouldn't be using facebook. or maybe this guy just didn't hear the news? however I find this difficult to believe as well, since this guy's friends are all the same people who added me, and are the same people who told me he was stabbed and died.

I am still wondering why they just couldn't make a facebook fan page or something?

It's a small world after all..

HAHAHA wow, I just searched this name again on google, and found the EXACT name of this person in another forum, they had posted something, and were from Australia. This is very strange, as I had made up the entire name in my head, and didn't even think this name existed!
