At Apple's WWDC, they made it official that iTunes is dead on the Mac and they're splitting it up as separate Music, Podcast, and TV apps.

The best thing Apple can do is switch to the service industry as their hardware sales are slowly dying and ironically: Unserviceable.

i'm not a big techi.. or all that pro apple.. why is this a problem.. three differnt product .. three different resource requirements ..

surprized apple has taken this long.. jobs would have had it done 2-3 years ago..

guess the apple watch thing really didn't bring apple into the next age .. of computing yet ?

It's better to kill it off themselves. Plan for it. Adjust and move on....as opposed to getting squeezed out by the next big thing. They have probably noticed a shift coming if it hasn't already come and they're getting ahead of the curve.

It hasn't made sense to keep it since the introduction of the App Store.

It's a remnant of the times of iPod.

Another section within the App Store is all that's needed.

I own all Mac products but I'm with Amazon for most of my music.

Products tagged with 'Autorip' give you both the physical and digital copy.

iTunes just doesn't make sense anymore. On the other hand, still use it to manually backup my phone to my laptop.

Now there are many free applications for listening to music. iTunes is pretty useless now.

I agree with you. I have long stopped using iTunes.
