Do You Think Facebook Will Be The Next Amazon...hitting $1000?

CNBC announced that Facebook just got some heavy backers in its pursuit of getting into the crypto market: Visa, Paypal, and Uber.

I believe those backers are strong backers and it is clear that they are seeing the possibility of Facebook taking over the crypto market the same way it took over the social media market; knocking Myspace out the game.

...and if I am correct I expect Facebook stocks to go through the roof.

What do you think?

It may help it to stay on course, from its 66% drop, but when BC drops, then it probably won't help much, (BC has risen recently).

As far as BC(Bitcoin), I don't believe it is going anywhere.

Now, Bitcoin is going to drop(and I am betting on it and getting ready for it).

However, that will only be a fakeout or temporary correction. I believe it will drop to $7K or

possibly $6K. But after that, to the moon Alice...to the moon!!!!

True, it is forming a classic bell curve distribution angle, so will probably drop soon, but to the moon, l would say the rocket may be stuck on the launchpad?

Remember when Bitcoin was at less than a dollar.

Don't look at the dollar amount. Look at the percentage in growth.

well you missed an important part of the story.. this has no involvment with bitcoin ..face book is launching its own crypto ..and facebook will probably have the ability to increase or decrease the supply of the currency to stablize the value so it can be used as a currency for it's 2.5 billion users ..or billion users in asia who can use the crypto as an acual currency for small value purchases ..

so by the looks of it libra the face book crypro..or digital currency ..is actually being put in as a currency ..not a speculative asset class .

now not every discussion of crypto has to be about bitcoin .. and what face book is launching is most like the real future for digital/crypto currencies ..instead of the speculative nature of bitcoin like cryptos ..

now what facebook is proposing is something i saw comming 10 years ago..my vision opr projection was a larege number of multinational corporation would create its on digital currency to cut the cost that comes with using different currencies ....it make sense that facebook i doing this and not amazon.. because i think with amazon.. most transaction are within one country ..while fb ecommerce will probably be different ..

It's not a currency if the only place you can spend it is on, or through Facebook. Think of it like Monopoly money. It's worthless outside of the Monopoly world, however within that world it can be used for paying fines, bills, buying "land", building houses and hotels. You can also receive rent from other players, dividends and more. Outside of Monopoly though it's utterly worthless.

You make a very interesting point. Yet, a lot of companies are accepting crypto for making purchases. Thus, I don't quite agree that Libra is Monopoly money.

That is basically how Fiat currency works . I am somewhat privileged using the US dollar . But I leave the county or waner outside tourist areas I need to switch my dollars to local currency of that country

Heck I move around the US and prices are different all in us currency . .now I am back in Las Vegas someone gives me non us currency I need to go to a bank or casino to change it to us currency

The Monopoly world of libra will be backed by at least fifty or more major cooperation besides Facebook but the value will be pegged to a basket of currencies at least in theory

Now how much the US government or the fed treasury see this as a threat or competition to the US dollar ..well as long as no one tried to set up a market for crude oil on libra

So you are right manopoly money only good to the billions of people on the network and only good for what ever can be bought on the ecomerce network

Well that's the theory so far from the information available

Well it depends how.much value does a us dollar have .how about a euro or the currency China uses or India

Something design not to go up 100000000 in the next ten years like Bitcoin ..and pro able be designed to lose value over time to encourage spending

You know like a Fiat currency

Yes, plenty of dumb, dumbs about, BC, does have high volume and is 24/7, and can rise substantially, but that is about it. There are plenty of other real stocks, that also have great volume, and are trade war proof.

And all stocks tend to have giant falls eventually so an IPO that is taking off is a good option.

Possibly true, but FB's volume is small, so you need serious equity or a leveraged account, and fairly sure you can actually pull your money out when you need to.

I don't think it's going that way as long as BC is concerned because the value is constantly decreasing.

The value of BC increases and decreases just like a lot of securities. Foreign currency is

a great example of that. I look for BC to decrease to $7K or $6K and then to start going up

      ....WAY UP!

why would i buy facebook stock .. because i believe facebook is puttting out a fiat stylr digital /crypto currency ..

bitcoin by it's design and where you seem to be a bitcoin believer .. you should understand and agree .. that bitcoin is set up to be a digital version of gold .so by design it has a limited amount total available .. made even more scarce by the ease of people losing access to their bitcoin .the limited supply plus it being the first and most known crypto currency with a huge number of believers .. are what give bc it's value ..

Facebook the little i have heard of it .. is basically making itself a central banker .. as it will increase and decrease the supply of it's digital currency in order to maintain it value compared to government issued fiat currency ..central bankers don't need to run printing presses any more .. they just digitally increase or tighten the money supply

so what do i feel when the most sophisticated surveillance apparatus that knows more about it's users than they know about themselves .. gets into the fiat currency game .. so it gets to learn how and what their users also will spend money on ..

i don't trust facebook .. i might use the currency on a limited scale if it is cheaper to send money around the world than other options .. but i won't put it in a bank acount for to long ..that what bitcoin is for .. buy that if you are going to hold on to something for a while

i think Libra is interesting - and this from someone who has 0 interest in BC. You can go to any crypto thread here and the same people are making the same predictions in every thread.

Libra does not seem to quite be 'crypto currency' so more to learn - but i like the idea of easy to use - easy to cash out - and the companies backing it with real $$$$ are impressive main-stream businesses.

They have written about 'local exchange points' and mentioned 'such as grocery stores'. If major retailers agree to participate...that will be the kicker.

I read about Libra but moved on - until I saw none other than Maxi Waters saying "FB should stop this" - that was enough to make me interested.

      Thank you for your thoughts.

And I do believe more retailers will get on board with Libra and once that happens; Facebook

stocks are going to go through the roof.
