Work less. Love more. And Claude sucks.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

Work less, love more, and Dan Riffle is the one that killed me. Here is a video explaining it all..and here is the murder weapon with his finger prints on it.

But really, would we give advice when we think we are going to die very soon? I wouldn't. I'd make sure my wife knew where all the insurance policies were, how to liquidate my business, and make her promise not to tell any relatives that she's got money.

I'd make her promise that there wouldn't be a service or burial.

And then I'd ask to be alone. Watching a loved one die is a terrible experience, I'd try to save her from.

Actually, I thought the part where the old man was watching a movie of beautiful nature (in a dystopian world)...waiting to die..was a beautiful scene. That wouldn't be a bad way to go.

listening to great music (whatever that means to you)...watching nature scenes....and just drifting off to sleep. That sounds pretty good to me.

Thanks Claude: Some interesting thoughts. : ) Yeah, that wouldn't be a bad way to go.

For any People who are afraid of "death" (like I used to be) ... This sentiment from Steve Pavlina ("Personal Development For Smart People") really helped me:

"Share your love with the World."

Watching Circumference Of Doom and hoping to die as quickly as possible goes hand in hand.

Your movie might just alleviate hours of suffering.

Listening to music..you might go out on a good note

The police would realize that you could not make a video about how exactly you were killed when lying, incapacitated , close to death on a bed.

Even so, you managed to look like death in your You-Tube vids

To a point I agree. However on the flip side, when People plant that seed -- and be open to learning -- and keep learning ... Amazing things will happen.

You can disagree with that if you like ― and you can post anything you like -- however for me it's the most important thing I have learned.

Steve jobs said, "Wow" on his death bed, before passing away, and the bright light thing, that l won't go into here.

Similar thing with one of the Beatles, but he didn't say wow.

He probably said, "let it be"?

      Nice list: Thanks hostnetindiaa.

(By the way my question shouldn't be taken too literally/seriously: It was just to get People thinking about anything important they have learned about Life (etc.)

Something else I'll add is that a Person can't outlive their "evolution." Meaning they can keep learning and improving and progressing.

Ok I will give an option I cought it will be something I remember in40 plus years but here goes .

And this is meant to sound harsh not wise .regrets are for stupid people who feel they are on the wrong path . And believe if they can go back and do a few things different .they would be on a better path .

So they they stay on the crappy path and make no effort to get on a better path .

Then there are people and groups of people who have a real short period where things are great and sprpend the rest of their lives trying to recreate that ..and miss window after window for the next chance for things to be great .

If your past is shatty stop living in your past

I'd caution my loved ones that although Lay Lady Lay and Lay Down Sally might be great songs, Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton are sadly less impressive on matters of English grammar.

With a bit of luck, that might prompt them to let me lie in peace for a while.

  • Gotta say, I figured an IRL thought experiment 'bout this baby.

First move was to soak a blanket in the bath an' freeze it.

Second, I shopped for plenty alcohol, plus real gloomsy music kinda works out only on a FUNERAL kinda playlist.

So, yeah, kinda ... music on.

Then ima throw on all my winter sweaters, multilayer out on panties & bras, wrap myself in curtains ... an' jump in the bath.

If'n I can walk straight (cos I got alcohol dreaminess masqueradin' as my life passin' before me now ... plus limbs mummified in a non-metaphorical way cozza curtains), likely ima hit the sack an' pull on my frozen blankets for XTRA FRICKIN' CHILL.

Then ima lie there an' be miraculously conschwaahs an' functional, wondrin' why I nevah jus' watched TV.

Evrythin' as may skip into life kinda don't happen too good from no death bed POV -- even if you collude with my evident fancy an' pack REAL POWAH VODKAH steada jus' beer for the alc stuffs in my experiment -- which I guess says why would you wanna figure no deathbed scenario anyways?

Gotta figure if'n anywan can fantasize deathbed scenarios outta choice, they kinda noplace actschwlly deathbed.

An' in my sweet, inspirational way, I would wanna figure always for this ever fleetin' abscence of Oblivion to manifest as a life-enhancin' catalyst.

    But FFS, there ain't time.

So ... how best to balance freezin' blankets on a hypothetical whim with havin' zero choice 'bout nuthin' cos the Reaper fingerin' your ass checkin' if you NEXT?

Likely the lousiest sex manuals evah euphemise this conundrum as "interplay".

Tellya, I can lay on my deathbed, prolly I still got sum kinda choice 'bout what sheets gowin' on tamara.

I think it's interesting that the question is even asked. Almost none of us ever say anything profound. Most of us learn very little by growing old.

Why would we suddenly become wise and interesting the day we die?

Me? I think I'll just enjoy the process. it's not like I'll experience it again.

If someone is visiting me on my death bed, and they expect me to say anything remotely coherent...I think they will be disappointed.

We all know that Claude will be haunting, closed up and dusty, Vacuum cleaner stores for the rest of eternity.

But he may also haunt the Wooster Mens Sauna and Spa, (those bars of soap don't move by themselves).

                .
Many times Life can seem cruel -- and sometimes it is -- however ultimately I think a Person can live a great Life no matter what. They just have to decide what's important to them and then do it. (And it could be anything ...) We all have unique gifts and talents. : )

Choose something that really makes you feel alive and/or helps People in some way. For example some People are gifted with words/being a Linguist etc. And that can be expressed in many ways.

Great. Get me when I'm too weak to hit anyone....and unable to keep from laughing.

On my deathbed..if my son were there...I would tell him....

"Son. I'm not your real father. We found you in a space ship that crashed in our backyard. You have powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal man. Use your powers for good".

He would laugh. I would laugh. And that would be a good way to go, I think.

Nothing, but when we are pressing down the pillow over his face, there is a chance that one of us might feel just a miniscule tinge of guilt. That's why we should sedate him first.

        Hi Claude.

Like I mentioned in another post, it wasn't to be taken literally. It was just something of an "expression" to get People thinking about all of the great things they have learned from Life (By the way, I think pretty much everyone has something "profound"/interesting/etc. to share). 2C.

I see what you did there.

But it makes me wonder. If someone knows they are going to die within the hour...would they still lie to someone? I bet family secrets and dalliances would still be kept secret.

for example, on Riffle's death bed, his wife asks "Dan..My love...I've always wanted to know..What is your gender?"....and again, Riffle lies.

With your dying breath and your eyes flickering shut, you just managed to hit the post button as your hand dropped down

Why am I observing this, it's not like you are going to reply. Farewell as I play "The Last Post" on my Bugle.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

    1. Be active.

    2. Don't spend time daydreaming.

    3. Work to have more time; not more money.

      Thanks Faylor.

I think a certain amount of "daydreaming" isn't necessarily a bad thing. As Einstein said: "imagination is the preview of life's coming attractions." Of course, a Person has to take action on all that. I appreciate the contribution though.
