I need people opinion on it. If my Job is killing my passion is it worthy enough to continue such a job when you have family pressure to continue it.

That's a choice you need to make for yourself. Hardly anyone really has a passion for their job, and the often mentioned advice to "follow your passion" is seldom even an option as a viable career choice.. But responsible people do what they must do while building a lifestyle towards fulfilling their passion. Consider using your job to help finance a hobby or part-time business which is more aligned to your dreams.

Sure, I concur with myob, it is a decision you should make. I have always told myself that when the job I do gets in between me and the family, I will always sacrifice the job. It is easier to secure another job than start a new family. So the ball is in your court; you can choose to play it or not.

The passion thing is not explained properly .

You bring passion in when you find something you care very much about doing well or the best it can be done

Responsibility is the death of passion. When your passion becomes your job, your way of feeding your family, different elements become important.

If you're truly passionate about something, don't soil it by resting your livelihood on it.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

I think the choice comes down to responsibility. My humble opinion is that if you have the means and ability to meet your responsibilities to yourself and to provide for your family if you have one, then that should be one of the biggest factors that help make your decision. I'm currently in a similar situation, so I wish you the best of luck.

If the family pressure is a wife and kids take care of your responsibility or having an ex wife and child support payments will suck a lit worse .

But chances are you are just another adult child in your 20s or 30s living your life the way your parents want you to .

Get out of your parents basement of move far away and get a few different jobs .

Whatever this is probably one of those threads started by someone who forgets how to come back to the forum after they post

I couldn't agree with you more with your response to this post, those are my thoughts exactly. My opinion is that responsibility to your family as the provider and head of household always comes first if that's the situation you're in.

Find a profession that you love and enjoy. It is unhealthy being in a job environment knowing that you are stressed out.

  • Keep your job unless and only unless you can succeed well enough with your passion in your spare time outside of your job to enable you to transition away from your job. Otherwise you will not only not be responsible, but you will probably also live to regret it hugely even if you were single and did not have such responsibilities. And if you can also get a better job while you still need a job, all the better.

Taking care of responsibility should always be priority but following your passion is vital to long term happiness. Like others have said, it would probably be in your best interest to stay at your job while getting to a place where you can eventually quit and do what you love.

Maybe it's time to reconsider what is really worth doing and what's not? Exhaustion is a bad sign that means you're doing things wrong giving up on your feeling. Take a break, relax and write down your aims and wishes.

You should have built your net worth through your job by aggressively saving it and investing it in the long run. Your net worth should bring you closer to freedom - freedom to quit someday when you no longer need to work. The keywords here are to save aggressively and invest to grow your assets.

Search google for FIRE movement (Financial Independence and Retire Early). After FIRE, do whatever your passion leads you!

when your carrier(Job) is actually killing it in a way that you are giving 14 hours/day to your carrier. How in the world does one guy with a family can carry on with his passion?

You find a job that supports your family and doesn't suck out your soul .

And if it really is a passion you will persue it .

The 14 hours a day every day is something you do in your 20 s before you have a wife and kids . Or after you get a divorce and learn how to shelter assts in llcs so the ex wife can't go after them .

You can have a dream all you want . But the reality is if you abandon you family to work 14 hour days . Your wife will eventually divorce you get the kids and .turn them against you .then go after everything she can .

Find passion in what you do at the moment. Rethink your life, other peoples life, all the variants of life on earth and your position in it. You will see you have the reasons to be passioned about your LIFE.
