I want to improve my communication skills. While giving a presentation, I am too much and I can't explain those things which I want to explain. Can anyone suggest me how can I improve myself?
  • Hi Elisa. Hmmm ... Do you REALLY think we know?

You can try being less, if you are currently TOO MUCH, then simplify your presentation with building blocks, like a toddler in preschool. Give them A, B, and C... then stop. Do you use an outline? Many presentation instructors have a 3 part thing...

tell them what they are about to learn.

    Keep it simple, 3 things.

Review and tell them what you just gave them. Sure it is over simplified, but it seems to be the way your pendulum needs to swing at this point. What sort of presentations are you doing?

When I did my first presentation I was so scared, so nervous and knew in advance I would f*ck it up. But in the end, I understand it was not bad at all.

    My 2 cents are:

    1. Try it out on a friend.
    2. Make eye contact with people in the room.
    3. Don't talk too fast.
    4. Make a Presentation in advance, with pictures.
    5. Start with a small joke.(When it's possible)
    6. If it goes wrong, smile about it.
    7. Relax, the fact that you can do a presentation is already a good sign.

Guess she did not want to listen to anyone's advice. The O.P. did a drive by and never returned. Last activity was the time this thread was created.
