YouTube is upping their game
Upon login, I was taken to a subscriptions page - Basic and Music Premium. I skipped the Free Trial, as I thought it would be redundant with my current music subscription.
There are more songs on YouTube than on Spotify or Apple Music
But this is due to licencing restrictions. Now I'm gonna dig up which of my favourite songs are playable on YouTube but not on Spotify, but you'll definitely understand my frustration.
You can play music videos
This is still YouTube, so downloading songs offline mean you can watch the accompanying music video too.
Ads will show up for Basic subscribers, while Music Premium takes away all the ads, plus users can download songs offline and play in the background. While I don't see YouTube Music taking over Spotify as the top music streaming platform, it gives users another option.
