How Do I Get Involved?

I joined this site a while ago and have been on and off trying to become a freelance writer. I have WSOs and a website in my signature, but I struggle to know how to get involved on this site when I do not know anything about internet marketing. I want to learn how to make a full-time income at home, and find these days it's hard for me. I'd love to do more than rely on my WSO which doesn't seem to be bringing me much work, but again, am not sure how to get involved or answer questions on here when I don't have the right knowledge.

Smart NOT to answer questions unless you know the answer. You're doing fine.

One thing I've noticed - you mention "WSO" but what you have are 'Warrior for Hire' ads....a WSO is 'warrior special offer'. Not the same thing but minor point.

You are placing ads in the correct place here - but you may dilute your efforts placing multiple ads. I could be wrong and I understand if you have a 'special offer' a new ad makes sense. If I were you I would NOT be offering a 'free' article. Have a 'sample portfolio' where you have example of your writing on different topics, with different 'voices' or styles.

I think I advised in another thread to place literally DOZENS of ads per day on freelance sites. Have you done that? It does work. Customize the bids - give great deals and fast service for the first gigs you get in order to get high ratings from buyers....those top ratings will bring in more work. You have to go AFTER the business as a writer.

Due to the current pandemic I will no longer be shaking hands or giving hugs. You may wave, bow to me or give me the finger...your choice.

You can answer the wso initialization questions, as long as you have experience with it

  • I know that feeling. If you can relate to the problem OP posts or have questions about the answers are giving, you can ask questions yourself! I know forums can be a hostile environment when you're a newbie, but if you feel uncomfortable you can always contact a mod.

Forums can also be a friendly and helpful environment to new members who understand a bit about forum etiquette (which those in this thread do) and take the time to read the rules and learn their way around the various sections.

Mods participate in the forum daily - some of us have names in red - but there are several other mods as well. The WF has been around since the late 90's and on this platform since 2008 - has been owned by Freelancer since 2014. it's a good place to hang out.

    • ahhh hope it didn't come across like I feel the same way about WF. Just wanted to point out that there are a lot of forums out there that give you some kind of ptsd, so maybe that's why she's so self-conscious about posting

You need a portfolio that showcase work that you have done. If you don't take your time to write several pieces to show what you can do, people won't trust you enough to hire you.

Reviews are fine, and they are helpful in the long run, but not without a strong portfolio.

Going empty handed at a client will rarely seal the deal.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but your website needs a lot of work on it, and the articles you have there need proofreading.

Your website is your business card. It's where the client makes the decision to hire you or not. Make sure it's the best website it can be, then send potential clients there.

Nothing wrong until you are sure about the answer

I agree. Maybe it is better to do than to think. I mean, it is better to try and see the result than not ot do and think what could happen.

It hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread but looking at your post count verses your sign up date, you are really not getting any exposure here on this forum.

Frequent this forum daily and browse and see if you can provide value in any of the posts but only answer on subjects that you can honestly give a correct answer while expecting nothing in return which means do not reference your signature. Over time you will get plenty of eyeballs seeing your signature.

Your signature also does not capture attention, it's a sad reality but sensationalism in a headline works extremely will in getting your signature clicked.

    Hope this helps,
    ~Joseph

You are not running a "WSO" - but a "for hire" thread and I would not advise putting an email address in your sig.

    Use your ad thread title:

High Quality Articles - Fast Turnaround From an Experienced Content Writer.

    Check it out: https://www.warriorforum.com/warrior...iter-hire.html

Then participate in the forum as mentioned above - every time you post something there's a chance a member who needs a writer will see your sig.

Did you join because you wanted to learn about Internet marketing?
Or, because you wanted to get work as a freelance writer?

I don't think finding a full time income is ever quick, simple, and easy.

Well I'm sure you know successfully getting involved here, and / or correctly ansering questions, won't be able to guarantee more sales for your Warriors for Hire ad, right?
    • It COULD help, yes. But I don't think it'll ever be that simple ...
** Otherwise, it wouldn't be an iterative, creative process ...
