Due to recent observations, scientists now say that remnants of the Earths atmosphere extend out beyond 600,000 miles, more than twice the distance of the moon. We need to go further to truly escape it.

    There's no need to go 600,000 miles to truly escape the atmosphere. Just go 3 feet underwater, and you're out of it completely.
