It's the time of the year when Apple holds its annual, well, Apple event. Traditionally this is the time when a new iPhone model is announced, but while there's no iPhone 12 out (yet), the people at Cupertino nevertheless made important announcements and releases. To sum it up:
  • A new Apple Watch
The star for this show is the Apple Watch Series 6. Design-wise, it's identical to the previous-gen Watch models but this iteration offers new colours - navy blue, and of course Product Red. Under the hood, it's got a new blood oxygen saturation sensor which helps track information about a person's heart rate.

  • Apple Watch SE
I guess the "SE" moniker is Apple's go-to branding for its budget models, this time going to the Watch SE. Price starts at $279.

  • New iPad Air
The latest iteration of the iPad Air gets a new edge-to-edge display, and has a 10.9-inch display. And unlike the iPad Pro, the Air still has Touch ID, cleverly located inside the power button (but is something that competitors have already been doing).

  • Apple One
This is Apple's new all-in-one subscription service that includes iCloud, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, and Apple News+. It's kinda like Microsoft 365 and Xbox Game and Spotify Premium combined together.

  • Software updates
Ahh of course, it's the annual software update: iOS 14, Watch OS 7, and tvOS 7.

Chime in.

Nothing much then. Whatever happened to Apple Silicon.

You missed part of the biggest part. The $29.95 plus a month, multiple subscription plan. Including Apple TV programs, movies, and more.

Take that $29.95 and round it off.

    Round it out to $30.00 a month X 12 months a year = $360.00 a year

Now multiple that by a super low ball estimate of 10,000 users = $ 3,600,000 Not a bad chunk of change.

Plus the new products your posts mentions, the health & fitness subscriptions and more all geared towards their market. A lot of people can learn from this. IMHO

Yeah - found this Morgan Stanley chart on this below - seems clear Apple's steering consumers to the steeply discounted "premiere" option

For me the jury's still out on how many subscribers this bundle will attract ... as it's anchored in Apple Music, it doesn't seem to make sense for subscribers to Spotify (although perhaps this prompts switchover to Apple Music), and the rest of the products in there (Arcade, Apple TV+) imo aren't necessarily compelling enough to warrant month-after-month subscriptions.

But agree this is a nice example of how to leverage the power of a multi-niche bundle in a subscription plan..

Apple One. Sounds like they have done some awesome job this time and not just some random features. Hopefully, users will enjoy Apple/iOs 14
