Q Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

No matter how you answered that question 5 years ago, your answer was wrong.

  • Will be interested to see your logic on the 'wrong' part.

I'm exactly where I planned to be - doing exactly what I planned to do....and I feel very fortunate about that.

    • Good point.

I've got no idea why I started a thread for this question. The intention behind it would've been better suited to the "Silver Linings" thread upstairs. In fact the "logic" behind it would've been a lot more obvious as well.

      Please delete this thread.

    • Did you see yourself being hamstrung by a global pandemic?

I think that was Whatty's logic. I think all that extra facial hair and lack of deodorant obscured his message.

    • Good for you, Ms. Kay. All I can add to that is, 'ditto!'

With a little luck, I'll be able to say the same 5 years from now, as long as there are no major changes, which I eschew at all cost. :-)

  • lol, I recall answering my teacher that I don't know where I will be in the next 5 years and what I will do and she used to tell me that you have no GOAL IN LIFE> ha ha
  • We make plans and things do change which means we either make adjustments to achieve the goal or remain stagnant.Change is the only thing that is constant
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • No, but I'm not 'hamstrung'. Except for fewer excursions away from home, my life hasn't changed much. I'm lucky as this mess has not caused me financial or physical harm (so far).

That's what happens when whatty asks a 'deep' question - he gets lost....

  • The answer, exactly where I thought I would be only wearing a mask.
  • I had in mind a TV show where I wrestled bison to the ground with my teeth.

There would be no croolty, jus' prime time entertainment, an' I would flourish my submission routine with a diffrent twerky dance evry week.

    My prahblem?

My plan was kinda overheavy on the costoom strategizin' an' less rigorous when it came to the actschwl bison -- though I did try to pet a pal's guard dog in my floorescentest evah yogah pants to kinda test the water.

Bit me in the ass, the fkr.

So, hey -- I coulda been famous rn if'n stuff had gone my way.

GRIP THE HORN, FLIP THE BEAST

woulda ranked alongside crowd-pullin' taglines like Think Diffrent an' Hoovers With Fu.

I might even have made a guest slot on Surprise Orthodontist Talent -- bcs I didn't do so bad testin' my chompers against a frozen cucumbah.

(An' before nowan calls me no science goober, I am fully aware that bison horns are actschwlly hair -- but the day I did the test my store was outta nachril sweetcorn.)

    This mean I a failyah?

Prolly naht bcs I groo as a person.

Sumtimes stuff don't work out, but you still gotta walk on toward vistae nouveau, head held high.

You can't do that too good if'n an enraged bison bust all your teeth an pierced your finest underwear while tossin' you into the sky.

That is why my plan till 2025 mostly involves chocklit.

Great taste. Fulla protein. Builds up your boobies.
  • Hi there,
It's a very interesting question. Those who fail to plan, their plans fail. The answer to such type of question may be wrong only for those who have contrast in their saying and doing (e.g in the case of teenagers, they might not have planned to achieve what they would have thought). But it's not necessary that every time and for everyone, its answer may be wrong.
It's my habit since my student life, to plan everything before taking a step. And I reach exactly at the point where I aspire to.
So, we should make a feasible plan first and then direct our struggles towards achieving that goal. In that case, answer may not be wrong.

    Thanks

  • For sure not always. There are people who are capable of doing things under super planning and make their dreams come true. You will work for your dream if it is really really your dream.
  • I wonder how many people took the pregnancy test, mistook the results and now have a 5 year old? Be honest - raise your hand.

I am looking at the businesses that are fully open and thriving and probably on the same days someone started a massage business and someone started a hand sanitizer business or a online delivery service. Also MAKE MONEY FROM HOME, VIDEO GAMES, OR SEX TOYS ....WINNERS.

  • Whatever we all planned five years back, I am sure none of us could have predicted the current situation so yeah I guess maybe we all got it wrong as nobody could do what they planned this year.
