What TV Shows Or Movies Do You Despise

All very well to talk about and recommend tv series and movies that we loved but there may have been some that you absolutely hated or just irritated you. But, your spouse or roommate simply loves them and insists on watching the endless seasons.

What shows did you absolutely have to get up and leave the room over?

I won't leave the room, because I can just read a book.

But any show on The Hallmark Channel are irritating. I joke with her that "The Mystery Of The Missing Christmas Cake" is the movie on tonight.

In your daily drama's, I expect plot's concerning missing cake is a regular occurrence.

Let me add all the CW Superhero shows. Supergirl, Flash, Star Girl, Batwoman...

As an avid Superhero fan, you would think I'd watch these shows. But like all the CW shows, they are loaded with adults talking like teenagers.

We still watch Supernatural, but it's really Cheryl that watches it.

Every minute, someone is screaming, crying, threatening a loved one. Every episode we see one of the stars die, and then immediately, we are fooled because they survived. Again, teenage angst. If I were a 13 year old girl, with a crush on one of the stars...I'd watch it.

        So obviously I'm watching it.

I was never a fan of the Marvel & DC tv show versions, as you say, childish and only appealing to teenagers.. I liked Supernatural, it got much better as it went on. Although, I was always intrigued where the principal characters got their money from. They only ever eat junk food and visited trash restaurants all the time, very unhealthy, stayed in motels etc. Was that ever touched upon. They never worked for a living.

My ex watched the Vampire Diaries and it's spinoffs. They were definitely one's to leave the room over. Positively dire.

            I think the same thing during movies. I'm constantly thinking;
"Who is paying for all their international travel?"
"They have no luggage, how are they changing clothes so often?"
"They just made a date with someone by saying "I'll see you tomorrow". How does the other person know the time and place of the meeting?"

And yes, on Supernatural, but also plenty of other shows and movies....who the heck is paying for all this? Nobody ever seems to make a living, they just have adventures.

It also drives me mad when I see people find something they couldn't have possibly found, or they just barely survive a sure death trap...over and over again, without a scratch.

The movie 2012 was especially painful to watch. Every 3 minutes, death was chasing them, and was only a foot behind them, they were always escaping by the skin of their teeth...over and over and over again....it gave me a headache.

Supernatural makes it pretty clear in the first season that Dean runs various scams (credit card fraud, pool hustling, shoplifting) to fund their exploits.

I must have missed that after giving up on the first season early and picking it up later on. How often did you see him doing that though. He must have made a fortune as later they had there own base of operations. Angelic benefactors perhaps.

It's one of those things that doesn't need to be repeated once established. Unless it advances the plot, it's just wasted screen time.

"Who is paying for all their international travel?"
You pay by watching the movie which boosts the ratings and earns the movie their money.

"They have no luggage, how are they changing clothes so often?"
              They change during commercials breaks

My wife often asks questions like "When did they change their clothes?"

One way I've found to make my wife laugh is to say, in a completely serious tone, something like "Honey, we only get to look at their lives an hour a week. They have an entire week to do all this other stuff. They bought new clothes on Wednesday, the cameras just weren't around then".

Or she'll say "I thought he was killed last week", and I'll say "No. His stunt double was killed, he's fine"

I've asked 'When they are looking for a key, and the cameras stop...are they still looking? When they are about to be killed, and the commercials come on, do the murderers and victims just smoke a cigarette....or use the restroom, and then as soon as the commercials are over, they commit their murders? That's isn't how I would act if I were going to murder someone".

Anything to get her to laugh.

Interestingly enough, in a random untargeted shooting, there is a one in 20 chance that you will die from it given prompt attention. An innocent man in the UK was mistaken for a dangerous felon on the London Underground and was shot about 7 times by police, survived and made a full recovery.

i have watched way to many videos on how much movies and tv shows get wrong ..forget just the paying for international travel.. it is in other countries everyone understand them when they speak english .. with no attempt to translate . and there is never any talk of prices or negotiating when they buy stuff ..

for a while i was watching an expert on medieval arms and armor .. and in the beginning of one video .. he had a bit of a rant ..because in movies armor seem to have no real protection .. the same way in star wars the only benefit stormtrooper armor had ..was it slowed the storm trooper down so they couldn't dodge blaster shots ...oh and about dodging blaster shots..

                    .
In westerns, a guy comes into town, stops at the stable and says "Water the horse, feed it, bed it down...and I need my laundry washed, a clean shirt, a bottle of whisky, a room for the night, and a woman."..

And he hands the kid a dollar, I think. In westerns, everything (and any combination of things) costs exactly one silver dollar.

So the stable guy trudges out back an' hollers, "I got another stranger. What we doing?"

His stable pal says, "I'm cool to water. And we got plenty feed."

Washer gal says, "if we're going eco-friendly on the laundry, I could use a few cents up front to cover costs for the excessively millennial branding."

                      Shirt guy?

Hey, he's old skool! "Gimme what's on your back," he snorts, "or I shoot your frickin' eyeballs out where I stand."

By now, the whiskey tender done drunk half the best bottle he got.

"Rest is yours, friend," he says, slooshing one of the final quarters (ie the remaining half) down his pants as he proffers the bottle, "but be careful getting your lips to the nectar bcs my mule got COVID -- and I love her so."

A stern voice silences all sound in the stable.

"I'm disgusted by you all," says the stable guy's wife. "We have a stranger in town, and all you can do is either take advantage, mock, or offer help in ways that only benefit yourselves."

The stranger's eyes swell with gratitude. "Are you ... are you the woman?"

"Sorry to disappoint," she says, "It so happens this is werewolf movie."

The stranger turns to see the stable gals ... invisible behind their workaday check shirts only moments ago ... but hairier than the floor of a top NY styling salon now ... lurching toward him, menace in their eyes.

                      "A woman?" says the first.

"Who will bite you?" says the second.

"Until your flesh can't feel how much it's hurting?" says the third, licking at the hairs on her lips.

The stranger reels as the wolf girls pounce.

Ten seconds later, Whatto wanders in and says , "half past nine."

                  Thor got Asgardian chic.

Black Widow got leather clearly squeaks neat whenevah she bends ovah.

An' Vision got a gem in his head an' a color clash costoom to wap out the guys from Pantone.

But what is gowin' on UNDAH alla that stuff?

Deep in the crevices where even Thanos would nevah probe a fingah?

See, if'n I was Miracle Gal (special powah: can stop time dead in its tracks bcs she such a ditz she holds evrythin' up) I would wanna be sure that whenevah I was out on an intergalactic mishin, I got clean panties on evry mornin' so I don't disappoint Mom.

So I would wanna look in on that Richards guy an' ask him why he spent alla his brainpowah on unstable molecules an' nuthin' on creatin' an interdimensional clutchbag for supergals to store their essentials.

I figure such a repository would kinda float around, available at all times for easy access changin' down undah.

Yeah, so let's say Miracle Gal is actschwlly in Oz, battlin' for hoomanity 'gainst WTF Spidah Guy.

The foul arachnid fiend has her pressed against a rock.

His mandibles chomp at her neck.

Her costoom tears, in that way costtoms always do whenevah illustrators wish to convey a deep sense of danger.

Miracle Gal glances down, checkin' habitually for VPL.

Then she realises ... FFS, I had this thong on for 3 whole days, but I nevah realised bcs Killah Croc attack in Melbourne! Jeeezis! I am sooooo embarrassed.

That is when I would ask WTF Spidah Guy to stop.

"Gotta change my panties, Poppet, bcs frankly my reputation mattahs. Plus also, if'n you lookin' for trophies to boast when next the soopahvillain convention conventulates, for sure you want my miserable, defeated ass lookin' at its best. Kindly look away plz."

So I figure Mrs Claude got sumthin' here -- an' I am trooly reconsiderin' my view of the Hulk.

Dunno, he always seemed the best kinda rebel packin' that ripped pant limited braino vibe.

But I don't want nuthin' to do with the guy now bcs boxahs.

VPL - the bane of the Super Hero community since the dawn of time.

That's why all modern super heroes wear their undies on the outside of their tights.

My wife cannot do without it especially during X-mas. I will succumb and watch one or two with her. But it does become repetitive with the same old plot i.e. a too handsome of a stranger comes in town to buy the local supply store owned by a drop dead gorgeous lady. They hate each other at first because of the hostile takeover but end up falling in love and live happily ever after lol

        Yup. You summarized every plot.

But I can understand why our wives like it. Wholesome nice story...without violence, blood, or swearing.

I was on a Zoom call with my wife's entire family. Most are elderly. They said "F bomb" a couple of times, and it struck me as funny. The idea of actually saying a swear word of any kind is unthinkable to them.

Well, you are set for the season.

TV shows, (cracking knuckles) well, murder mysteries is one, or anywhere they go, even on a holiday the dead bodie counts just get higher and higher.

I would think that at least 10% of the UK's population is contesting wills and murdering people on mass?

What else, ummm, tv series where some idiots try to build a house in the middle of know where, usually in an area with wild bears, in freezing conditions and no electricity or anything else,...oh, and a pregnant woman silly enough to tag alone.

Movies, Mama Mea, has to be at the top of my hate list, or when Pearce Bronson tries to sing, you just want to slap him about, (least l do).

TV shows are good but to make them prolong, directors make scripts involving obvious and stupid mistakes from the characters. At times you come to know that this mistake isn't part of character development but still you have to watch it as you are a loyal fan, lol.

Agreed l watched the entire series of that, and only Dax and Kirra made it tolerable at times.

I have largely given up watching episodic shows. I can plough through a film every now again. Watch clips of largely nostalgic old UK shows on you-tube, I like historical documentaries as well as off-beat ones. Like, the life of an actor, the fortunes and demise of businesses, all sorts of weird and wacky stuff.

I like Shark Tank. Most recently I have become intrigued with House Hunting shows, not so much the renovation ones (or though I do like some), more the buy and almost move in ready, ones, the choices and pro's and cons people face when they are presented with several.

The comments buyers make on them sometimes make these the most infuriating shows of all to watch. I swear at them for making such stupid comments and observations and being sometimes soooo picky.

The "My Lottery Millionaire" one is my favorite.

    Money Heist Season 2.

I loved the Season 1 and was so eager to watch the Season 2. Sadly, the whole season 2 episodes were too boring and too dramatic making it extremely unrealistic. The relationships, professor's plan and anything you could see in there had no logic connecting them. The team members themselves lost faith in between them at one point and then another point you could see them acting as if nothing have happened.
In season 1 what I loved the most was the professor, his plans, and the entire team fighting together. In season 2 it is this exactly what we do not see there.

I hate all reality shows. I even dislike most talk-shows (like Oprah or The View). They all suck. People only ever talk about the stupidest shit. But there is one that I know is beloved by millions but which I hate even while I love its star: Judge Judy. I think she's funny and I understand her appeal.

We live in a world where everything is complicated, from morality, to justice, to interpersonal conflicts. Judge Judy is a fantasy that tries to address the yearning for easier moral judgments. It's not even what I'd call "harmless fantasy" because Judy is --best as I can tell-- a part of the ecosystem of entertainment which seems to be feeding the narrative that "things would be better if they were quick and simple." Fine, she's not the cause of that but she's a part of it and I dislike it.
