Apple And The M1 Chip

I finally have to say it to Apple, hats off to you.

Innovation has returned at Apple in the way of the fact that they developed their own Microprocessor chip called the M1 and are ditching Intel.

Collective reviews are pretty fantastic. The chip, still in it's beginnings are taking over the role's of other addons like GPU's and rolling them into one chip. The results in speed, performance, lack of thermal overheating and battery life for laptops are also amazing.

So far they have only put it in the Mac Mini and the Air and turned them into much more capable devices.

They have caught Intel & AMD with their pants down. Will Apple license this technology to other PC makers. That remains to be seen.

Of course, it can only get better.

Credit where credit's due.

Agreed, the costs have come down, (over their i3-i7 Macbook Airs) and a 13inch M1 air can compete with my Microsoft one with an i7 Intel chip.

Although pushing the air, (turbo boost mode) with an i7, the i7 will still way outperform an Apple.

I need to buy one soon, since my Mother is housebound, (and wants one) so l have looked into it.

That is after this NBN nightmare is sorted out.

But it typically outperforms an i3, by 3 to 5 times, at a lower price, according to their benchmark tests.

If the hardware is faulty figure out if it is worth repairing or not. Depending on the age and the costs you maybe better off, just buying another one.

My maxed-out 2014 Trashcan Mac still purrs like a kitten and easily runs the brand new Big Sur OS without a hiccup. I keep looking for an excuse to buy a new one, but nothing, yet. :-)

Apple have to go and spoil it all by releasing over ear headphones at the ridiculous price of 549.00 pounds in UK money. That would be $733.00 US, unless the price will be the same amount., pounds to dollars.

I have messed about with it, and it is nice, but isn't perfect, (no cut and paste of passwords, etc, so getting past Apple TV, mystery credit card code is a nightmare) and l usually try to log in from my one.

What about Apples new electric cars, (no seriously) which no doubt will have a M1 processor at its Core?
